The opening post is pointless unless it includes the testing methods used to calculate the results... Why do so few question the methods used to compare products?

Are you blind? Did you not see the pics of the Gtech earlier in this thread?

Let's not start the name-calling... Anyway, I'm not the person that posted test results without including the test methodology... I have amended my previous post nonetheless...

In the future, please post the testing methods you used in the original post if you want your results to be taken seriously... I couldn't help but laugh when I read the posts of those that were sold after reading your "results"...

I was not attempting to attack you personally, just your manner of posting your testing results... My apologies if my previous post was misleading.

Anyhow, I am going out back to watch pigs fly as I brush out my pet unicorn.

This thread is boring, there are no pictures supplying pictures of the edge and the readouts at the time of testing.

My truck stock: 0-60 13seconds
But with the edge: 0-60 was 7seconds

Numbers dont prove much

Let's see pics of your Edge and your times.

Let me just say that I won't be taking any more pictures to attempt to prove to the disbelievers that this was a completely unbiased test. If you don't believe the numbers, just go to next thread. Thank you, please drive thru.

Talking Hwm3

Thanks for all the info . It would be cool if you could see the Xcal2 settings with the edge Keep up the test results! I am still leaning towards the excal2 (I thought I read some place that the excal2 can be used again if you get another ford) Future money saved.....

HMW3, thanks for the time you spent doing the comparison, have a nanner
Not sure how people can question your methods, the same g-tech, the same truck, very close to the same time of day, its close enough for me. I think some people refuse to believe that MT's product may produce more power.
I don't have a MT XCAL2 but do have an EDGE on order with NO regrets at all.
The edge benefits to me still outweigh the performance gains for the price, but to each his own.

Ditto for me. Thanks for the time and effort on your part.

Goes for me also. I am interested in the times although I am very much aware that it is for comparison only. Any dyno operator, or person who tunes for the 1/4 mile will tell you that all of the variables have to be considered. No two dynos will read the same on the same truck. Two identical trucks on the same track at the same time will not perform the same. Actually it would have been better if HMW3 had only posted the differences, not the actual numbers.

And for sure I would expect a Troyer tune to out perform a canned tune anyday. I don't care if he does do it in his basement. Alot of people on this website are happy with the results he has given them. But I don't have the need or the want to spend the money on dyno runs and dataloging. But if I was racing, you bet I would!

And HMW3 now has the best of both worlds. He can run with the MT tune and use the EDGE to monitor vital sighns on the engine and tranny.

Again thanks for the interesting reading, and keep up the good work.

Not as simple as plugging the Edge into the OBDII port.

Anything more, you shoulda bought a diesel.

I'm not trying to sound like a jerk, but if a 1/2 ton pickup won't do the job without having to worry bout drivetrain inability, you shoulda bought a bigger truck.
Why do you think the diesel jockies have so many gauges

Troyer's tune is a canned tune. Unless you go through the data logging procedure. I wonder what percentage of Xcal2 purchasers datalog & turn the info in?

The Xcal2 is for ANY FORD from (I think)96 to date. When you purchase one from MT, it has his canned tune in it. The Edge is for 04-06 F-150's ONLY .
