Edge vs. TP Xcal2 acceleration times

OK, I made about 6 runs this morning, 3 with the TP Xcal2 and 3 with the Edge on the Level 3 performance tune. Here's the numbers I got.

TP Xcal2 best:
0-60 6.5 sec
1/4 mile 14.9 @ 93mph

Edge best:
0-60 7.5 sec
1/4 mile 15.7 @ 87 mph

Overall the Edge provides pretty good gains over stock, but on it's highest setting is only as fast as my TP 87 octane tune. If you really want/need the gauges get the Edge, if you want the best performance get the Xcal2.

Was that 3 runs of one then 3 runs of the other or 1x1? Also did you make any changes to the Edge tune or did you leave the settings the way that Edge had them from factory?

Those times are the best of 3 runs with each. All three Edge runs were virtually identical, but there was a .3 sec spread in the Xcal2 runs because of wheelspin. On the quickest Xcal2 run, I managed to launch without any wheelspin.

And I left it on the stock settings. I don't think it's a good idea to just blindly adjust settings without monitoring the AFs.

I guess I dont see the HUGE difference between the Edge and the Troyer. One second, If I were building a drag truck than I might care about one second. Nevermind the way more expensive price tag and the wait just to get a Xcal 2. To each his own I guess

out of curiosity, why not at least change the wot fuel delivery? this notched up a click or two won't hurt anything? it would if it was to lean, but that is not what that feature does. i bet you get better times with the edge by doing that.....maybe not xcal numbers, but a few seconds better.....will you try?

You can do that with the Edge as long as you have a laptop. No more paying to go to a dyno for it.

Thanks for the numbers.

I'm not drag racing nor do I street race. The extra second isn't going to help me out any.

Keep in mind that he has the 5.4 and not the 4.6 like you do. So you might not see results like his.

I'll have my LM-1 installed next week sometime so I'll give it a try then. I just stuck with the stock settings with both. You can adjust the Xcal2 tuning also.

Your not getting very accurate AFs without a wideband AF ratio meter.

Honestly, that still doesn't mean squat. . .

What was the WOT Fuel set at? I believe its SUPPOSED to be set at 1.50 but when I loaded mine today, it was only set at 1.10. I'd really like to see how much a difference in times it would make increasing the WOT Fuel from 1.50 to 1.80.

. . .and just remember if you ever get your truck reflashed due to warranty work, you'll be sending your Xcal back to get re-tuned. No thanks!

For everyone: What was your stock 0-60 ?

For me: Why choose the lm-1 over the dynojet wb ?

Stock:
0-60 8.2 sec
1/4 mile 16.3 @ 84 mph

I got the LM-1 because it's compatible with the Xcal2 which will be used for datalogging.

Wow, that is a much bigger difference then I would have thought.
Nice job TP!

I must say, I am amazed at your performance numbers hvm3. A 14.9 1/4 mile is about what some people are running with the Roush S/C using the tune provided with the unit.
