How would these look?
Just got my new 08 XL reg cab and one of the first things I would like to do is get the ugly stock wheels off of it. I was looking at just upgrading to a nicer OEM wheel but I came across these (see link) and was wondering how you guys think it would look? I want to keep it the stock 17" size as I dont want to lose any ride comfort and this is my daily driver and I dont want to dump a bunch of money into wheels. These caught my eye and made me think about doing a black-out look to it. Maybe black step-bars and so forth down the road. Let me know what you think.

Hey Sean.....
A whole bunch of thoughts come to mind....
First off, pretty much any "other wheel" you can find, after market, or upgraded OEM is going to look better than the OEM non-chromed steel ones.
I bet you could get a really good deal on a set of aluminum OEM wheels... some are chrome plated too, as a lot of guys buy brand new Lariats, FX2's, etc, and take the wheels off the same day they buy the truck, to upgrade to aftermarkets
Those AR wheels you linked to look pretty nice. But personally, I think your paint color would look better with chrome...... and this is coming from a guy who likes the blacked out look a lot. Looks great on non-mettalic red too.
Also, going to 18"s is not going to make any noticable difference in ride comfort. Not saying you should.... but if you happen to find a good deal on 18"s, you don't need to be concerned.
BTW, IMPO, if you want to do something which will improve the looks of your truck a bunch, for not a bunch of $$$, I'd consider tinting your glass.
You have a nice, clean, F150 there..... so this means all the potential in the world ;-)
Peace,
Fish

Thanks for the awesome input! Those are exactly the kinds of things I wanted to hear. I was concerned about with the color of my truck and what finish of wheel I should go with. I was looking at some of the chrome steel or some of the nicer aluminum OEM's. I will just keep looking around and see what I can come up with. A big reason I wanted to stay with 17"s was so I could just use the tires I have now. They just cut our hours at the plant so money is a little tight tright now. Damn economy!!
As for the windows I have been checking around here and most shops want $170 to $190 to do my windows. I did several vehicles in the past and turned out pretty good but not sure if I have the patience for it anymore. LOL! One way or the other though that is one of the first things I want to get done.

i disagree with fish chris. since you already have black bumpers and mirrors i think black wheels would look good. the ones you linked to are nice but i personally prefer a simpler design. throw some nightshades over your emblems to get a kinda black chrome look, paint your headlights and call it a day. you can even get some stock wheels you like and have them powdercoated for probably around the same price as a set of aftermarket wheels.

The more I look at them and the more I think about it, they would probably look best on there if I got them in 20 inch or so. I really dont want to go with bigger wheels.
I also thought these might look pretty decent on it. We have emailed back and forth a couple times but he said the lowest he would go is $400. I think thats still a bit high.
