Cool Pirelli Scorpion Zeros ?

Hey,

I have a 93 F-150, 2WD, 5.0, Flare Side. Right now it has FireStone FireHawk SS tires on it:

Front: 235-70-15 <
What the truck has now
Rear: 275-60-15 <

Stock Size Front & Rear: 235-75-15

I need to replace these tires they are about 70% worn and they look realyl goofy anyways (they where on the truck when i got it). I am thinking about replacing them with Pirelli Scorpion Zeros- 255-65-15 (front and rear). Do you guys think this size would look OK ? Also does anyone have any of these tires ? They look absolutley awesome and they have a speed rating of 150mph although I know the truck won't do it thats somthing to brag about hehehehe

Anyone have these or seen them ? What do you think of them ? Thanks !

Also if you would like to check them out here is a http://www.pirelli.com/tyres/cat/catric/scor0.htm

Cool

I think those tires would be a litte short.
I have no idea how wide the rims on a '93 are but check to make sure the tires aren't too wide to fit the rim properly.
A 255/70/15 I think would be a better choice.
This tire would be closer to the original diameter that came with your truck.
I personally would never put a smaller than stock diameter tire on unless you are going to lower the truck.

yea the truck has 15x7 wheels on it. The Scorpion Zeros are not avaliable in:255/70/15

I figured up the difference between the stock tires and the 255/65-15s here is what I came up with:

235/75-15:
Sidewall 6.93"
Diameter 28.87"

255/65-15:
Sidewall 6.52"
Diameter 28.05

So it looks like the total height of the 255/65 will be will be about 0.8" shorter than stock. Which would make my speedometer show about 2.86% too fast. I don't think that .8" would make it looks that bad at stock ride height. But I may be wrong

Why do you want the Pirellis so bad?
They are an excellent tire but are better suited for performance cars.
I would love to have a set on a Mustang but I think a truck needs a truck tire.
I personally think the stock tires on most trucks don't fill the wheel well enough.
There are tons of threads about tires and how they look/perform.
What rim do they recommend for that tire?
I think if you went with these tires you would end up with a lowrider look.
If that is what you are going for then the pirelli is probably a good choice.
I wuldn't run less that a 70 on your truck unless you get wider rims.

The reason I want the Pirelli so bad is ebcause I think the tires would look awsesome on my truck but I don't want to go spend big bucks for some 17" wheels. By the way my truck has the ground effects on it:

That is a pic of it the way it is right now. By my calculations the new front tires would be .8" shorter and the rear would be .2" taller.

54regcab, I beleive the Pirelli Scorpions are a light truck/SUV rated tire. They offer an excellent grip on the road wet or dry.

Thumbs up

Now that I know you have the ground effects and have seen a picture of your truck I recommend getting the pirellis.
