For all who complain about Ford quality

I don't go to Chevy/Dodge sites & trash their choice of vehicles & I don't especially appreciate it happening here. I feel bad for anyone who has problems but my patience runs thin with this kind of posting.
Ford trcuks have been the best selling OVERALL vehicle for 22 years & the best selling TRUCK for 14 or 15 years so that many people can't be wrong or unhappy.
Good luck with your truck - hope that all the problems we hear about Chevy/GMC trucks doesn't happen to you. Thanks for listening.

Cowlady,
First of all, this is a public forum which is open to all who follow its rules and you don't have to be invited. You make it sound like just because someone doesn't own a ford truck, they are not welcome here. You act like this is your personal forum which it is not.
By making stupid remarks about chevies being shovies and that they can't get out of their own way just shows your immaturity and that your posts are not to be taken seriously. You are obviously very biased. I thought I read that you said you were 46 years old. You sure don't sound like it by your remarks.
Why do you hate chevies so much? If your Ford started having all kinds of problems would you still be singing its praises? Do you consider having a motor replaced because of piston slap in a fairly new vehicle Quality? I don't. The problem with you is that you won't admit what problems ford does have. Love must be blind. At least I admit chevrolets are not perfect and don't come here saying that they are the best and that fords are not. Why don't you grow up and contribute something constructive.

Dennis,
Obviously you are not reading the posts on this forum very closly if you say only a handful of people here are having problems. There are people complaining about problems in every section on this forum. Most of the posts that are posted are about some problems someone is having.

Geez, give her a break. She just happens to be very proud of her truck and doesn't appreciate outsiders telling her its a piece of crap. I didn't even know what a 'shovie' was until I found this site.

wtd:
only a small % of the 8000 members here have experienced serious problems. And 8000 members is hardly a drop in the bucket compared to the number of Fords sold each year.

Thanks Flatlander! Let me try it ONE MORE TIME with these high class, white collar professionals, okay? Feel free to jump in anytime if you choose.
Okay - since wtd & DUCKHUNTERnLAB did not comprehend my posts or HAVEN'T READ ALL OF THEM let me reiterate (that means repeat) - I DO feel sorry for ANYONE having problems! I just posted a website in an attempt to help them - www.ugetheard.com. I have REPEATEDLY stated (that means said) that I am NOT the enemy, I wish I had better suggestions & I hope that everyone's problems are resolved (that means fixed) to their satisfaction.
What I am OPPOSED to (that means against) is all the JUVENILE (childish) name calling! NONE of you have the right to call me or anyone else a redneck, low class or an alligator mouth. Personally I think my mouth is more pouty like a weasel!
You have the audacity, the unmitigated gaul (that means nerve) to say I am childish because I can & do defend myself & my friends who are being verbally attacked? How's this for juvenile - "takes 1 to know 1"!!!!! Why don't you go back & read ALL my posts BEFORE you start insulting me? You can read, right? Well then try it! You MIGHT learn something!
Yes I love my truck & yes I do not like the OTHER brand. Last I heard this is still a democracy & I am entitled to my opinions. If I should have problems I will deal with them. I won't come here, blame the OWNERS & insult others! First it would be unfair & second - it won't help me solve my problems! This is not rocket science - it's just mature, common sense!

Well here is my 2¢ worth ( Canadian that is). In 1996 I leased a 96 Sable Wagon. After about a year I wanted a Pickup so I looked at Dodge, Chevrolet and Ford. I think the Ford Dealer lowballed me because he was cheaper than my Lincoln Dealer and obviously cheaper than Dodge and Chevrolet.
When the 2 year lease was up I had bent the frame twice ( playing in Sand Dunes) replaced the tranny (Mazda POS 5 Speed) and destroyed the 8.8 inch rear end. The Multi-function switch had been replaced once and it had the infamous door crack. Am I hard on my truck? You bet, but that is just me. For 1999 I leased an other F-150. Why? Because I like the truck, I can walk home from the Dealer (They have shuttle service and loaners if I want/need) and mostly I get what I think is good value for my money. If you want a fine truck get a Ford. I have had 2. I am sure that Chevrolet and Dodge also make fine trucks. But unless you owned/leased one your comments about them are objective and are of no value. As I have not Leased or owned a Chevrolet/Dodge I will refrain form commenting about them. Get next to me on the street on a Friday or Saturday nite though, and I will tell you that they are |!"/$%?& and then proceed to race you to the next light!
Isn't life wonderful? Weather you Get a Ford, push a chevy or tow a Dodge, enjoy it!

Wow, I must have blinked (that means that I closed my eyes, then this subject came and went before I had a chance to open my eyes again). Cowlady, you have got yourself in deep on this one. Fortunately I must agree with you on it. I came from a family of chevy lovers, then I came to the light FORD!! It is true that the fords do come up with problems, but I belive that the warrenty and esp plans make up for it. What could be better then going to the dealership for service, and then there is ford paying for the parts and labor on you truck. And even the deisel warrenties are better then anything ever offered before. So no I don't want to hear about the complaints. And no I don't want to hear that the shovies or dodges are better, I have owned several brands and of all of them the fords have proven themselves. I wouldn't trade my 85 F-150 in on anything but a new powerstroke.
HarleyGuy - don't worry about your comment - I loved it! Gee - could it be because I am from a lower socio-economic group? I doubt that!
Thanks too for JMC & Ford4fun's astute remarks as well! I do seem to have gotten in deep, haven't I? However, what these disgruntled (that means unhappy) posters don't know about me is I can go full rounds with the best of them! I have no problem debating with them, nor am I intimidated (that means scared) by their remarks. I do apprecaite the support & I think in time they will lose interest. I know I won't! I may be female but I am not a cry baby - I don't go away!

I don't get all the above ^.
Three weeks ago, at the age of 43, I had never owned a truck of any sort, and never comtemplated owning one. To me, they were big, expensive, gas guzzling, problem-laden, noisy bubbas on the road. For a variety of reasons, three weeks ago, I became the owner of a 1999 F150 XLT Supercab Shortbed with 32,000 miles on it. Several things surprised me: 1) it was immaculate. Obviously the prior owner took very good care of his/her truck. ...and since buying it, I notice that almost every Ford 150/250/350 I pass on the road is equally well cared for; 2) smoooooth ride. In fact, smoother than any car I have previously owned... from Olds to Mitsu to Jeep to Buick. Not only smooth, but I never felt like I was driving a truck, till I needed to fill the back with manure...great interior space too, comfy and roomy for me and my dogs...everything within reach; 3)engine purrs like a cat...and a big cat when I need it...and it's only a V6; 4)found this website, which has already taught me more in three weeks about trucks and cars and engines and motor oils and air filters and etc than I learned in 43 years. 5)only cost me 15K...actually that kinda stunned me. Came with a liner and bed cap too.
I feel lucky to have stumbled on this beaut of a motor vehicle. It has the perfect amount of back seat space for my dogs and plenty of bed space for mulch, manure, compost and whatever else I need for the gardens. It runs sweet and strong and rides quiet above the road. And I have this enormous internet community to turn to for help, advise and information. It is the only truck I know of which such a dedicated following.
I'm sorry for all those whose experience with their Ford trucks has been less rewarding...and I knock on wood that my experience continues to be a good one.
Of course, not all is perfect...the radio/speakers weren't anything to write home about, and the overall styling is more "pretty" than "cool." But for 15K, I can overlook the styling and put in a new CD player and speakers (already have...and now I look for excuses to drive). And though the styling may be too rounded for me, I've been stopped several times by people just telling me what a beautiful truck I have. The gas milaege could be better, but if I wanted better gas mileage, I would have bought another small Mitsu...but I needed a truck...what surprised me was the 20 mpg I got on the highway driving from Chicago to Virginia. The Buick station wagon I drove to Chicago was getting about 10.
I have also stopped by the local Ford dealership twice, once for info on an extended warranty and once to get a touch up kit for three tiny pebble specks. What a disappointment to be treated so shabbily. While I know that the dealership is not Ford, per se, it is an extension of Ford. What a missed opportunity to cement the good feelings of a new Ford owner. If I were to trade this truck in, which I have no intention of doing, I would think twice now about returning to Ford, if only to avoid the attitude I encountered at the dealership. But, then again, there haven't been too many car dealerships of any brand that I found particularly humane. Unfortunately, the art of customer service is sadly lacking in almost all sectors of American commerce.
What has surprised me the most is that this is the first automoblie that almost forces me to take care of it. I even learned how to change the oil, wash it by hand and started keeping records. Now I'm looking to do some mods. Realize that to me, cars were something to get me from a to b. This truck has changed that. It demands a certain respect. Strange, maybe, but that's the way it is.
That's why I can't figure all the negative stuff going on the discussion. I know nothing about Dodges or Chevies or Toyotas...nor at this point do I feel a need to. This truck serves all my needs extremely well. If I have a problem, I just look it up on this web site and I'm off to solve it. If I encounter problems with individuals at Ford, I learn my rights and I pursue them...or learn a better way to persuade...or take my business elsewhere.
Nor do I feel a need to respond to any negative stuff on this website. What is the point? Training my dogs taught me that only one thing is sure to reinforce behavior, be it negative or postive..and that is attention. Give attention to the negative and it will grow, ignore it completely and it will fade away.
Thanks for putting up with this long, rambling email. Just wanted to say what a great truck the F150 is for me, and thanks for all the great help and info I have received from the positive, contributing members of F150online.
Drive on,
Mark

Forgive my stupidity - must be due to my toothless, redneck, low class state in life BUT - how come the people who bash Ford's know SO MUCH about the great GM service? If GM is so dependable, why are they bringing their trucks in for service anyway? Kinda makes you say huh? Or is that just because I have an alligator mouth? Gee - ya think?
