Cool

I feel for you, I too have the same problem, friends that just don't understand. Another thing you can look at is the car lots, big and little. Around Sarnia and Windsor, here in Ontario, I have noticed that most Ford Dealerships have more Chevy's/Dodge's than actual Ford trucks. And if you look at the oppositions lots, they are generally full with their own vehicles and not on occasion, you may find a Ford. I have noticed the side of the roads too and most that I have noticed are the oppositions vehicles sitting on the gravel. Hmmm, go figure !!! Friends just don't understand once they have own a Chevy, they think that is it. But in reality for over 20 years, people know who makes the best trucks out there. Proud owner of a '94 F-150 SC, LB (127,000 kms on a 302) and previously a '87 F-150 RC,LB sold it with 303,500 kms on a 4.9L and the guy that bought it has already put other 2000 kms on it. Not even a chance, will I ever own a non-Ford product. The wife owns a Plymouth Sundance, BUT it's in her name and we couldn't hack at the price on it. It was a 2 grandma driven car. Next one, I'm working her into a Cougar or something by Ford. She has learned too but still isn't completly convinced.

Wink

I guess my question here is...why would you, or I, or ANYONE bother with such an insipid argument? I have driven all 3...Fords, Chevys and Dodges, and I can honestly say that all have their advantages and their drawbacks. On the whole, I like my Ford the best, but, WHO CARES WHAT I LIKE??? I have had people try to get me into that "Ford vs. Chevy" nonsense, and I just say "you don't have to like it...drive what you wanna drive". Usually that stops it right there (unless they are physically OR mentally 10 years old) If they go on, I leave. I don't have patience for people like that, and I think when someone goes on and on with that kind of argument, it says a lot more about them than it does about you.

Now before anybody attacks me, if y'all want to have a good shouting match that's fine too...I'm just an old spoilsport

Cheers!

Just a bit of insight: If everyone enjoyed the same sport, say, golf, it would be so crowded that you would not have enough room to play. Hence: appreciate those with differing tastes, they make it possible for our highways to be less congested.
Sometimes the best answer to a snide anti-FORD remark is a grin and silence. And also remember when you were a less informed individual and appreciated a product inferior to your FORD. I guess what I am trying to say is " Can't we all just get along?"

Thank God for Chevy and Dodge and the people who buy them. If they weren't around or if they went broke cause everybody bought a Ford then Ford would have their way with us. Competition keeps manufacturers on their toes and enables the Earth to spin properly in it's orbit. Without Chevrolet we would go hurling into the Sun.
Ever see that 'car' that was/is produced in the former Soviet Union? No competition over there.
One word 'Yugo'.
I was on an island in the Carribean(I can't remember which one now, I arrived by Rum boat) it was French. Rennaults all over the place, nothing else was allowed. Craziest thing I ever saw before I blacked out.

Be careful about brand loyalty. Toyota knows that everyone likes the reliability of their product,so they price them way up. New Tacomas are 25,000 and up! I would drive any truck that was reliable, stylish, well constructed, and responsive. Ford is in front right now but who knows in the future. As consumers we need to choose based on facts and research not what bills third cousin said !

All you have to do is take a drive out to the country and all you see is Fords in the small towns and on Farms. All the farmers out there need a tough truck that will last and won't cost them money down the line to have fixed. They know what the best is and they work their trucks harder than the average guy. -ZRracer
