Tumba;
Suck test complete w/engine off and valve functioning perfectly. Movement heard, no hissing. Maybe it's possible I thought I had cleaned out the egr ports and in actuality didn't?

I would do the jbrew voltage test of the DPFE, before I pulled the throttle body off again.

If you have a vacuum pump, pull a vacuum on the green line from the EGR valve to the EVR. Just to see if it has developed a leak, about 6 to 9 Hg but not over,you wouldn't want to collapse it.

On the jbrew test here, if you haven't done it before. The volt meter is to ground, and positive to the center pin on the DPFE.

Edit: Back probed while connected that is.

Where are you jbrew?

at idle 15.4v at rev up goes to 18-20v. This with the dpfe plugged into the tubes and obviously the electrical disconnected for test. + went to center of connector and - to frame ground.

Do you have your multi meter dail on the DC setting?
It sounds like the DPFE is working, but those voltages sound kind of strange to me.
Look at jbrews video again. Your voltage should look more like his.

Yes sir. DCV. I placed a sewing needle in the back of the connector to make sure I had good connection with the center pin and then went to frame ground.

According to this chart that would cause you to pull a hell of allot more differentialpressure than it should. I think something is wrong there.

== Jbew
Numbers @ The Connector

Here's some readings / (Engine Off)

Key Off:

Bottom wire VREF = 0.02
Middle wire SIG RTN = 0.00
Top wire SIGNAL = 0.02
______________________________
Key in run position (Engine Off)

Key On:
Bottom Wire VREF = 5.08
Middle Wire SIG RTN = 0.04
Top Wire SIGNAL = 5.05
Here is a link to the post this information came from.

Tumba... just to recap, the dpfe connector is plugged in to the dpfe when the voltage measurements are taken correct?
That was a stupid question... never mind

The vref(bottom pin ) voltage is with key on engine off from front of plug.
Should be in the 5 volt range + or - .25 volts.

Signal return (center pin) back probed with engine running.

I do not know where that much voltage could be coming from. Your pcm should be smoking.

Are all of your vacuum lines still connected. Like the brake booster, the PCV, the one from the left valve cover to the intake under the throttle body?

So there are no lean codes.p0171 or 174.
