4.6 to 5.4 swap in progress
Cool! You figure out how to remove the connectors without damaging them ? If you need a few connectors, let me , I probably have them. Hey , you don't have an extra Master Cylinder o yuh ? Freakin melted mine
See, what i am thinking now is there is nothing on the actual 5.4 motor that connects to this part of the harness, it has its own harness that connects to the black firewall bracket, on the inside of that bracket. So if i hooked the 5.4 MOTOR harness up to the 4.6 accessory harness, would the wires match up and everything work correctly...Thats what i need to know. Forget the coil pack recievers because that is apart of the 4.6 engine harness.
I don't think you'll have much of problem now - You have enough parts to make her work haha.. I didn't know you had the donor's comp Good Deal!!
i think its going to be better if i just use the old harness and convert it back to coil packs. The abs box wires dont match up its got a ton of extra wires that i have no place for...Its just not going to work. SOO. I took both engine harness's off and im going to rob some ends from the newer harness being that i do not need it anymore. I am extending the IAC wire so it can reach the rear of the TB and extend the oil sender wire. THE ONLY THING I NEED HELP WITH NOW (FINALLY) is, what is the intake manifold runner control valve? and where should i tap it? I dont see a sensor for this item or maybe its something i am seeing, but the harnesses are almost the exact same besides for the COP plugs.
Remove the IMRC valve from the 4.6 and plug it into the 4.6 harness that you are using on the 5.4 engine. I mounted mine out of the way so it could move when the PCM commanded it to. See picture below.

PS when you get a tune have the tuner remove it from the tune and unplug and discard it.

yes i got the complete 5.4 and all the accessories. The 5.4 does not have the IMRC and i am having the 5.4 computer fully tuned out so i will make sure that gets taken out aswell. My question still remains, what did you tap and what sensor gets placed there? Keep your thread updated with step by step pics so i can follow, its that cool?
oh i spoke too soon. I need the correct firing order for my 99 4.6 because of the coil packs and removal of COPs. I have this, but i need to know the firing order for the actual coil packs so if you guys have anything send it over!
The 5.4L & 4.6L = Same order -

Same .. Do you need to know how the PCM reconfigures ? Good Question - That I don't know, I'm not sure it has to. I would have to look that up, can't advise off hand.
Have you read JMC's Swap procedure ?
JMC - You need to publish that here in TECH Articles... For some reason , I keep losing it
