alright so yank the engine out first (can do, waitin on my ol' man) I got a forklift so it should be pretty easy. The 4 torque converter bolts that go into the flywheel, do they just slide out as i pull the engine forward? I dont want to strip the threads because its B I T C H to get to those in the first place, being that the oil pan is right in the way...

and is this the crossmember you were saying cut the rivets out of vecause its in the way?

Just unbolt the remaining part of the exhaust system. Should be two bolts at the collector and one at the middle of the crossover where it attaches to the transmission crossmember. And the crossmember you pictures is the for the t-bars. It has to be removed but it unbolts. There is one more crossmember further back that is riveted. it has two rivets on each side and it is more flat looking.

Totally different if your truck is good to go and your engine is done...

Looks like a lot of work but worth it if you have the skills and an awesome support base like this forum...

I really hope all goes well but I have no worries on that. Like I said, I myself have considered looking at something scary to put under the hood leaving the original badging-just for giggles.

haha i hear ya! I don't got the money like that but the plan is to drive it as is and sometime within the next year have it pulled and N/A built. No sc, big cams and a solid bore! I have been talking to my fathers freind that does this for a living and said he can get me to a 450hp standpoint, naturally aspired...Will run about 3 grand but its gonna be worth it. I won't be able to put a s/c on with the big *** cams but thats all good!

You will loose it all if you do it yourself. Not recommended. Freon is heavier than air and if you breath it in it will push all the air out of the bottom of your lungs and you will suffocate. An A/C shop will suck it out, replace it and check for leaks at the same time.
