What do you call a muffler out of the box that leaks at both ends in all the wrongs places? Good ? - That makes sense, how do you figure that ?

ZERO problems ? Good for you, that really helps this case now doesn't it?

Did you finish building yours, for them? Working for them on the side now are yuh?

Well congradualtions, yea the Flowmaster ate up a little a torque, but at least they can build one that doesn' leak, which is allot more than I can say about Magnablows. Lick their a$$ all you want, but what they did here is wrong. It's a design flaw , pure and simple.

Am I correct in saying that those stainless magnaflows have a lifetime warranty? I had one on my Olds Quad 442 and it saw 7500 RPM at least 30 times a day and it never leaked. Actually its on my buddy Ranger now.

You must have just got a lemon.

Jackal - Glad to hear you got everything up and running. Did you notice a nice gain with the longtubes? I hope to do the same job but to add PI heads after I get my ZX2. Nice Work!

I have a Borla on mine. I had it on my 97. The weld kept cracking on the inlet pipe to the muffler. They replaced 3 of them. They finally redesigned the mount so the muffler would not flex off road. I must say that their customer service is second to none. They even replaced the one that I transfered to my current truck from my 97. I did have to return this one but still, they legally only have to replace mufflers on the original truck. I did have to wait 3 weeks for them to produce one. It is now discontinued.

Regards

Jean Marc Chartier.

PS I got the Borla because some rag back in late 1997 tested this muffler and it added 12 hp to a 1997 4.6. Best $900.00 US that I ever spent.

I am :o - I'm prolly the only one this has happened to and I've never heard anything bad about these mufflers before .. So , I expect to get pummeled here, until I stop breathing.

I don't understand why they did this and it's looking like I never will..

Oh well, I should stop b^tching (since it won't do much good anyho) and just get me a Borla/Roush - I know I'll be happy there.

there are many guys on the mustang forums im on that have had the same problems. with the welds on the ends cracking and i can see why. but im sure it all has to do with where u mount the hangers and how much stress u put on them. something thats built so cheaply with such thin materials u cant expect it to be sturdy.

Oh , Yea , I never heard there was a problem with those. So that model was discontinued awhile ago then. Any problems with the new ones? I hope not , yea the XR series is the one I had in mind.

Maybe I should check those - Oh well, I'm not driving that truck anyway right now - to damn loud, given her a rest. I plan to redo the whole system as soon as I get a good welder and torches added to the shop.

Cool

HI!... JMC's had a lot of problems with his BORLA. I believe it's cracked like 3 mabey 4 times now. Borla is good about it though and keeps sending him out a brand new set-up everytime. Free...... We compared our mufflers once. They are basically the same. I bet there made in the same factory and the after market companies just pay to have their name put on them.

HI!... Did you ever think that mabey a bad muffler got past quality control. It happens. You are the 1ST I have ever heard that has had a problem with the MAGNAFLOW line. Most everyone around here runs them. As for RUSTMASTER, I mean FLOWMASTER, I lost H.P and TQ with them. Absolute garbage. Here's a pic of mine that was barely two years old. They were constantly cracking all the time and I was always having them welded up. Plus they droned terrible on the highway. Will never buy another "rustmaster" again.

The S/S MAGNAFLOWS I replaced them with.

I'm checking into that now - it's possible, I don't think that's the case , but I will find out.
