Project GO FAST is now in progress!!!

That Mercon just sucked, glad they don't spec that crap anymore
...
Well I dropped the exhaust, pulled the headers, the torsion bars, crossmembers, starter, driveshafts, and all the wiring is unplugged. should be good to go tomorrow or thursday when ever I can work on it again. Now I can paint everything that i've removed, and undercoat the bottom of the cab when the tranny is out.

Now the Mercon, you couldn't touch the stick without getting burnt

I'm not sure what's compatible w/Amsoil - or in the same ballpark as far as quality. I remember it costing me quite a bit for 20 quarts.
Great Investment tho.

Built, what torsion bars are those?
jbrew, when I called Eaton to ask about using Royal Purple in a TrueTrak L/S, they said they didn't recommend it because the heat stayed in the unit rather than being transferred to the lubricant. They said they specifically tested RP for this. Maybe the same thing is going on with the Amsoil???
Either way, I'd go Amsoil or RP for sure. RP runs $10 - $13 per qt. Makes a GREAT gun lube too.

Jackal, ford put in different length/thickness torsion bars based on tranny config. considering he has the E4OD, I'd say he has the larger ones, ~53in to clear the larger HD auto tranny. it looks like he may have painted them.
