Kevin has the same prob I do Fast - We are both trying to solve , we have a slip/shudder at take off and it been bugging the pi$$ out of me for 8 months - Kevins been trying to fix his as well.

We think it's the clutch pac , but it might be the converter ? I 'm putting a Transgo kit in this weekend to see if it's the converter for sure. I think it's the rear, but not totally sure..

ISSUE
Some 1997-2005 E-Series/F-150/F-Super Duty 4x2 vehicles may exhibit a driveline clunk or bump that occurs as the vehicle starts to move forward, following a stop. This condition may be caused by the slip yoke not sliding smoothly on the output shaft splines.

Lubricate the slip yoke with Motorcraft PTFE Lubricant. Refer to the following Service Procedure.
SERVICE PROCEDURE

1. Verify the condition.
2. Remove the driveshaft per Workshop Manual Section 205-01. Be sure to index-mark the driveshaft during removal to maintain alignment during reinstallation.
3. Lubricate the slip yoke with 7-13 grams (0.25-0.46 oz.) of Motorcraft PTFE Lubricant.
4. Re-index and reinstall the driveshaft per Workshop Manual.
5. Verify the repair.

Well, I don't mean to burst your bubble - I did the Teflon grease deal on mine already and it didn't change a thing - so don't get your hopes up

But maybe it will fix yours.

I think we need a clutch pac , so I'm not getting my hopes up with the Transgo install - But if that doesn't change the shudder in any way , I will change out the clutch pac right after and I'll post pics and give yuh the resources - I have to do it quick , have to go back to work soon - then , I'm out of time, prolly be workin 60-80 hours per week..

when u drop the pan u will see cluth material in the fluid that settles to the bottom if ur clutches are slipping but if they are its either from fluid going out or the pump is dieng...

Yeah I changed my fluid and didn't see nothing back then w/100% Amsoil- I had my trans on the bench at one time and really didn't feel like takin the thing apart at the time lol .

But I will be looking for that - what happens with my particular trans (4x4 E4OD)is the 4th clutch snap ring pops off - the pressure plate might be broke and jumped apart. The Trango upgrade comes with all those parts to replace, that's why I got this kit . If you have slippage or shudder in the trans/converter , this is suppoese to fix it..
