Is 4.6L Superior to 5.4L

5.4is still weak... lol and u make excuses saying change the cams and intake manifold so on forth but the whole point is comparing motor for motor even the 294hp version thats in the explorer. but increased displacement only helps if u have the heads to help the flow and the intake to support it.. since since the 5.4 doesnt then yeh it sux

yeah, tires that are stuck and spinning in the mud do go pretty fast.

Haha that's 351cu.in but my 324cu.in with 100% stock 03'cobra SC made 510rwhp and 560rwtq at 2,800-4,000rpm(almost flat tq curve) at 10psi! total timming 15* My car almost made as same as rwtq GT500 with 2.8KB 24psi!
i read that as he has a stock blower, no mention of the heads and cams. if i missed it can you post were he talks about having stock, unported head and cams

since you are posting on that board ask the guy if he has head work and different cams

theres more than one thread about his car on there. i think a couple of the links are in that thread. one which i remember he spoke that hes on stock unported heads and cams.

ok when comparing truck v8's take the f-150 v8 not the mustangs or the explorer's v8's they are completely different motors they rev higher and they dont have a stamp anywhere signifying TRITON on them the 4.6l f-150 makes 231hp stock i belive ant the 5.4l makes 260. fyi just because ford makes a 4.6l doesnt mean its the same v8 and yes the explorer runs the mustang v8 and not the truck v8

maybe we should start compaing the new cobra 5.4 or maybe the Ford GT 5.4 to the mustang 4.6???

I like my torque... if i just wanted hp #'s i'd go buy a dodge and not tow anything... hell i might as well get a f'n car then.

oh WAIT! i got a 67 fairlane gta, maybe thats where i'll look at a mostly hp built engine.

plus, production costs... yeah no thanks i woudlnt wanna fork out an extra 10k for the GT engine you know they'd jack the price up for.
