how much rwhp and rwtq did u make when u were still on stock long block?

I make more RWHP on that motor with 2 cylinders than most anyone else around here does with 8. hehe

Cam and drag radials my ***.
He's got a 427 in it, just like someone else I know.
Still though, mid 10's verse mid 8's.... that about the same difference as your truck stock and a Vette.
There's something very weird about that idle. It's doesn't break into a clean lope. It sounds friggin strange. It sounds like an old flat head v8 with 2 dead cylenders. LOL

Mid 10 compared to mid 8 is not like my truck and a vette. Lets just assume you meant a stock c5 which runs a mid-high 13 and my truck would run what a mid-high 17 so you think 2 seconds is the same as 4 seconds?
Thats what LSx blocks sound like with cams... sounds just fine to me. Its a push rod V8 so it is going to idle alot differently then you ohc mustang.

Maybe you could learn a little more about the competition before you go running around saying its not idleing correctly. And like i said if you dont believe a cam and drag radials can run a mid 10, then come down here and im sure he will be glad to show you.

Nice! All that shiny aluminum under the hood gives me a hard-on. LOL
To be 100% honest, I don't really know how much HP my stang makes. It was purpose built for a large turbo so there was never any N/A dyno work done. My buddy's chassis dyno here in town max's out at 1200hp and 1000fp. On it I start smoking the slicks HARD at about 5k RPM and the highest reading it goes to is 1200/1000. I know I pegged it out at 5,800 at 18 PSI. 18's a little higher than I normally run it. I usually set the controller at 15 PSI which seems to work out about the best for most races and gets me about 1175 (tq's still pegged at 1000 though) and a really nice egt. But if you figure the boost is around 1 bar with 1175, with a turbo it's N/A should be around 700hp (with an N/A cam of course). It's got a really large turbo that takes what seems like FOREVER to spool up all the way. With it set at 15, boost is all in by 4500, and I launch at 4000 to keep it a little soft. Just like in the vid of Urist's car, it comes on strong after about 2 seconds. It comes up on the cam at about 5,500 and tops out at 7,500 which is when the second gear shift takes place (2 speed glide, shift at about 1/3 track).
I am very interested to see what happens with your F150 after you get the turbo going. With those heads you're running, it should be pretty serious. Did you get a turbo grind when you got those cams?
My next build I'm looking at, probably next fall, after the DOHC finishes up it's first season, is going to be N/A. Looking at a carbed 598 with Bennett C-460 heads, which should get me in at around 1100-1200hp. I am really excited about it! I already have the 598 short block, and the truck (65 f100), so it shouldn't be a huge undertaking. The biggest part is getting the truck up to snuff. It's going to take A LOT of body work and A LOT of time and money to get it looking good. Getting through this DOHC build has been a lot more expensive then I was anticipating too. But, they always are! You know what I mean! They start out as a fun little project and spiral completely out of control! My Mustang started out as stock with a 150hp NX kit! And look at what happened!!!
Patrick....
Yeah, my Mustang has OHC's.... LOL.... yeah.... right..... LMAO If 351 blocks have overhead cams, then put me in a dress and call me Shirley.
Not to be mean or rude, but cars running 10's are a dime a dozen. Not that impressive to be honest. Take any one of the mustangs, drop in N/A built 351, you got 10's. Drop in a stock 351C with a cam and you got 10's too. Not that big of a deal.

HEY LOOK !!! JBREW LANDED!!
You guys crack me up!!
I'm surprised, no ones challenged 220 HP F150. I had her jacked when I had to yank that E4OD that slid off the jack and turned my fingers purple - OUCH!!!
(u know how heavy w/t-case that thing is?) I used a warn winch bolted between two trusses to get it on the bench LOL. So where's the 150's huh?
I have the most F150HP on this page

A 10 second car that's a daily driver is pretty cool. But, it's a z06, which is damn quick to start with. I drove my Mustang every day when it was supercharged and running high 9's. It was awesome knowing that there wasn't a car to be seen in any direction on the road that could even come close to keeping up with me.
Don't get me wrong, It's not that I don't take him seriously, that's a very, VERY nice and damn fast car. It's just that running it against a car with over 1000hp that's laying down 8's is not even close to a serious subject. It's not that I'm trying to be an *** dude, seriously. It is just soooo common when I have that thing out how many people have "friends" with fast cars that I should run. It seems like _everybody_ has a buddy with a fast car. Running another car, that really is fast for what it is, and it's laying down 11's, 10's, or even 9's, isn't even a fun race to run. It's just so completely unfair it's not even worth talking about. You know what I mean? It would be like one of my friends walking up to a guy with a 6 second pro-stock car and saying "Hey, my buddy has a turbo-stang you should run! It runs 8's!" Now you know that guys just going to look at you and crack up! Or how about that same pro-stock driver trying to set up a race against John Force?
And while I've got enough green tied up in my car to buy a z06 and do the same mods, it certainly doesn't look as good! I'll give him that for sure.
Running in the 12's is easy for any v8 car to do. It doesn't take a whole lot to get there. Running 10's, while it's a lot faster, doesn't take whole lot more. You can take a 12 second car, put gears on it, better tires, get the traction and launch down, and get it into the 11's pretty easy. So getting down into the 10's with that isn't much more difficult. Getting into the 9's, however, takes a lot more. You're getting down into the territory where it takes very expensive parts to make those times. Getting deep into the 8's is extraordinarily difficult. You find yourself running a lot of the same equipment as the guys running in the 7's, you start getting close to 6 figures in your car, things get very difficult and very expensive very quickly. Cutting 10ths off at that point becomes very hard. You start reaching speeds where being killed if something goes wrong becomes a real possibility (look at what happened to Racin' Jason) rather than just banging up your car. Cut another second, second and a half, off and you are in the world of fully sponsored cars with professional crews and drivers.
In my opinion, when you need chutes to get stopped without running off the end of the track, things are starting to get very real, very quickly. Keeping your life insurance paid up starts becoming a legitimate concern.

Hey, I see a nice FL back there in your pic! hehe Dude, I know what you mean about squashing fingers! I destroyed my left index under the 9" in my car. It slipped of the jack and caught me between it and the jack stand. It pinched my finger so hard it broke it and split it down the side. Had to have a pin in it and stitches. That sucked!

It is a pretty sweet FL I don't have it completely opend up in the pics - don't know what to do with it now , I bought new in 04 , used it for a concession business I messed around with and I don't have to pull the trailers anymore - I have spots in Florida and leave them there now for Bike week and Daytona - Have a few in Georgia too . Business runs itself now and I hired people down south to take care of sooooooo - Maybe I'll trade for a lightning - about 6 of them lol
Kidding - BIG payments , so I'll prolly broom it - get rid of it unless I find another use..I'm prolly gonna just get a one ton - a FORD twin turbo or something , I'll prolly need go down there here and there.

My damn fingers still hurt in the mornings - blew a hole in my pinky (no where for the blood to go under that much pressure -ewww) I put a drill threw my arm last year - straight there and out the other side , that was weird , it didn't bleed but a couple drops - I got lucky and missed everything that's important in there lol..
