Any News on F150 Diesel?

I've been reading on DTR about Ford developing a new V6 diesel. The HP &
TQ numbers in the article are really impressive & the rumour is that they are
going to put it in a 1/2 ton. Also read where GM & Izuzu are also developing
a similar engine for the same purpose. Although I drive a Dodge now, I have
always bled Blue & I'd rather Ford make a killing with this new diesel than GM!!
Has anyone heard anything about this??

No, DTR, Diesel Truck Resource, it's a site like TDR but doesn't cost anything
to join.

Probably be sometime around '08 or '09 before we see both a bigger modular gas V8 and a small diesel.

Talking

This is my first diesel, & I got to tell you, I won't ever go back to gas!! My
truck weighs 7200 lbs & at 70 mph I'm getting 20 to 21 mpgs!! Gotta love
a Cummins!!!!! My wife even likes the engine so much, she wants one!
But, I need 2 3/4 ton trucks like I need another hole in my head! So I'm look-
ing at what Ford has to offer.

The baby powerstroke has been around for a few years now in the cab over box trucks. Simply a 6.0L missing two cylinders.

I don't expect the half ton diesel soon as it would take away sales from the cash cow superduty that is keeping Ford afloat with diesel sales.

Cummins Guys

Apparently, from what i have heard, ford bought the cummins diesel, and they are going to but that into the 07 F150's. it is not a v6...it is a Inline 6 cylinder motor. thats why the numbers are high, inline motors turn harder that v style motors
