Programmers with M5OD?

Ok so my dad is about to get me an XCal3 for Christmas. Before he does, I want to make sure this is something I can justify him spending $400 on. I've heard plenty of people say things like: "night and day" or "feels like a V8" but from what I've been reading, most of these "gains" come from the shiftpoints of the auto trans.

So if anyone with a programmer and the 5-speed could provide some input, I'd appreciate it

Cool. Hopefully you see the same results, if not better then when I got my tunes done. I'll be interested to see how good it does for our engine with the manual tranny.

i'm thinking about dropping $200 on a custom dyno tune here locally.

i was quoted at 15 RWHP/20 RWTQ gain for the 4.2L V6 with my mods on canned tunes. the $200 for an hour on the dyno would squeeze out a few more. getting the canned for christmas but the dyno tune wont come until jan. then somewhere around there i'll be getting some ASP UDPs. thats about all the engine mods i can think of doing for now.

i'd be happy to see 180 rwhp and 225 rwtq.

Sounds like a good idea, if they are a reputable tuner for our trucks. I had always planned to go to one of Troyer's Dyno days back when he used to post the dates on here, I was just too lazy to make the trek down and honestly I'm happy with the way my truck runs as is. Having the XCAL2 with 3 different custom tunes is nice, but I really only run my 87 oct. towing tune anyway since I tow often. It's still way better then stock, seems to yield me the best mpg's and it's nice to have the device in the event I get a SES light.

yeah the place here is called JawsRacing. they specialize in Ford vehicles. the owner has a Fox 5.0 and was on that speed channel show "Pass Time"

they have Dynojet 224xLC in-house and they just installed a proper lift to clear the roof to finally tune trucks. cant wait
