well unless he has some mods done, you will take him. even if there are mods done, those rims will hold him back a little. the 3.4L firebird and camaros like i said were 0-60 in 9.0 seconds. that is the same time as the non turbo 2nd gen eclipses. i love american muscle, they are fast, but the economy versions of the muscle cars are a joke most of the time. and the economy really isnt that much better anyways. my 96 trans am would get 25mpg on the highway. the 96 3.8L was i think 27 or 28. the 3.8L camaros and firebirds were the first economy versions that were actually decent in performance out of all the economy versions. the 96 V8 was 5.6 0-60, 3.8L was 7.5 seconds. i test drove a 96 V6 firebird the day before i bought my T/A and it surprised me, especially since i was used to driving my 89 2.8L firebird. and my 89 only got 20mpgs

all he has is a little AutoZone conical filter at the head of his stock tubing. His car is a little heavier than stock, hes added subs, speakers, a lot of audio stuff; then we spent two days hacking up his roof to install t-tops, and again his 18" C6 replica wheels. a 1994 with 170K+ miles, his engine has surely lost some power over the years too

yeah I raced a 99 Exploder with the 4.0L tonight. I loaded my 87 street and we both had one pax. I was heavier by a couple hundred # and he walked me.

well that autozone filter might make up for half of what he has done to it. how long did it take for the t-top install? too bad its a 94, 98-02 had a pattern on the inside of the roof built in so it would be easier to install them. just peel of the headliner and its there. that had to have cost a littel $ if he did it right. a lot of the molding is different on the ones with t-tops. and hes lucky his 3.4 lasted that long lol

i raced a 04 exploder in my 04 heritage and beat him. i was behind him at the light, he took off on green and i passed him. it did take me a bit to get past him tho. he says his 08 silverado is quicker than his exploder was. and i demolished his silverado in my 08 f150 so my 08 would have whooped his exploder.

2 days. his 94 had the pattern in it. we cut off the roof and there it was. he paid $150 for the two glass tops, hardware, and rubber seals

did you two "acknowledge" that you were going to race or did you do the ricer flyby and then he stomped it? and was the Silverado the V6? i did a dig and a 40 roll when i raced my buddy. but the 3rd gen Explorers have a lot of crap in them and that might have gave you an upper hand in terms of weight

well, he went the cheaper route then. i mean like the A-pillar and stuff. the molding is different or i guess he could just cut it. i guess its not that big of a deal.

he was at the light ahead of me in his exploder, he revved a few times, and so did i, then he took off on green. i had a constant pull on him and when my door was at his front bumper he let off because a car came up over the hill coming towards me. it was basically like lining up except it was not side by side. if it was an off the line launch, i would have been ahead the whole time. also i should add, he had the auto awd where it kicks in when he is slipping so i dont know if that engaged or not, doubt it tho.

no, it is an 08 5.3L V8 ext cab 4x4. basically it wasnt a race. we drive home from work the same route every day. i told him if he was behind me, i would take off from the light and hit my brakes when i hit my 100mph limiter. i hit 100 right at a mile marker sign. he tried it the next day and told me he hit his 98mph limiter at the junkyard entrance which is about 100ft farther up the road. i will have to take a pic of where i hit 100 compared to where he hit 98mph and post it.

actually according to our state registrations, my 04 heritage was 3897Lbs, his explorer was i think 4100 or so. my 08 according to the registration is 4364Lbs, his chevy is almost 5000
