Has anyone took a trans from a 2007 and put it into a 1999 2 wheel drive not sure if it's working correctly it shifts into 2nd but won't shift to 3rd I haven't switched the speed sensor plug to match the trans sensor yet so it's still unplugged just need some advice

Why are the speed sensor plugs different? My 2002 F-150 supercrew transmission blew so I got a new one out off a identical 2001 everything is the same options everything but the speed sensor plugs are different so I swapped out the sensors. Is this going to be a problem?

An Explorer transmission WILL NOT BOLT to an Expedition engine and vice versa. It also may not be the same length and have the same tailshaft.

I would have to guess - they should be, except maybe for the tailshaft. On either, 2wd and 4wd use different tailshaft housings.

 

So I have a 2000 f150 and my transmission recently went out it’s of course a 4r70w but I was going to replace it but the transmission Im looking to get is from a 1998 mustang gt with the 4r70w I’m wondering if it’s just plug n play. Yes it has the same tail housing
