IIRC the 04-05's had the thicker 4 leaf packs and the 06-08's had the 3 leaf packs. The 09-14's got a smaller 1 3/16" block (that's what came out of my 13)

NOW ..... it comes back to me so clearly!

It would explain things ........ I thought the '09s up looked a hair lower, so 2" vs 1-3/16" blocks …..

Back when I had an 05, I put a 2.5" leveling kit on it and it was still higher in the rear. It was only .25" but it was still high. On the 06-08's most got a bulldog stance (or california lean) with just a 2"

I pulled the rear blocks out of my 13 the day I got it, and it still sits rear high.

Thanks for the insight. Looks like I'll be doing some lowering shackles at some time. What shackles do y'all recommend? Thx.

I have the 2.5" leveling kit on now, and the rear still sits higher just like you said. I def can't wait to take the leveling kit and rear blocks out. At some point I have to replace both my leaf packs (unless I can find a trustworthy suspension shop). Wish I could do it all at once, but....eh it's whatever.

DJM is a trustworthy brand from many on this site. I would say any name brand imo.

I have an '11 King Ranch supercrew 4x4,I just put a set of 22's on it and I'd like to have it lowered 2" up front and 3-4 in back.
I see BellTech has a kit with struts that allow adjustments from 2"+ve to 2"-ve and a 3 inch rear drop from Shackles (978SP), there is no pinion angle wedges included in the BellTech kit.

Groundforce has a kit that allows 2" front via coil springs and what appears to be shackles in the rear .(kit 9987) This kit shows replacement bump stops for the rear and what looks to be a pair of blocks for somewhere plus pinion angle wedges.

the groundforce one is a bit more expensive, but which is the better kit?

I'd have to drop the rear another couple inches to get near level, only have about 4" travel now till hit bump stops. I'll keep the rake.

I bought the 2/3 Belltech kit, it arrived today.
I'll need a new ballmount, mine is a 3" drop and I suspect I'll need a 3/4" rise.

I also have a set of Airlift air helper springs with on-board compressor I'd like to keep.
Does anyone know what i can buy to retain as much of my existing hardware and just raise the airbag mounting hardware up about three inches?

I was looking on the internet, and although my kit included a set or replacement rear shock that are well rated for lowered applications, I was thinking that a set of air adjustable shocks would be an easy replacement for my ride-rite air springs.
Thoughts?

You found a set yet that are short enough?

If they'll work, I like the air lifts, they stiffen without raising a lot.

nope, but I think this is the best method for me.
I seldom tow or load much, my airbags are overkill but I like my on-board compressor

I had the lowering kit installed, BellTech 2"/3" plus removal of the spacer block for an extra 1-3/16" drop at the rear.
My ball hitch dropped a total of 5 inches at the very back.

I'm still going to have to get some bump-stops/jounce bumpers because when I removed my airbags I noticed they replaced my factory bump stops.

I've considered 2WD intended air shocks, the factory 4WD FX4 rear shocks would be fully compressed if I were to bottom the suspension enough to hit bump stops since I removed blocks. I just haven't looked for any yet, truck never sees loads my '77 does.

Air shocks would have been pretty easy, but I really like the dampening on these Bell SP 2’s, no more pogo stick rear end
