Newbie looking for advice on 9+" F150 lift project...
I'm new to all this type of stuff and was looking for some advice for my 2007 F150 FX4...as of now I'm planning on using...
-6" Rough Country Suspension Lift ($1337)
-3" PA Body Lift ($413)
-37" Nitto Mud Grappler tires ($1639)
-20" Procomp 7289 wheels ($795)
I was thinking about adding in a 2.5-3" leveling kit, but I'm not sure how practical that would wind up being, since it would make the total lift 11.5-12" and that seems to be a little much once you add in the re-gearing and other upgrades
Any input would be appreciated, although I'd like to keep it close to 5-6K

if you are going to try to go with the 12" I say just go with the rize 12" or even the 8". Not sure what you are talking about practical though. Once you lift the truck above 6" it really isn't 'practical' anymore compared to a stock truck. Your going to lose gas mileage and it sucks putting stuff in the bed. I say go big as you can on your budget though. I wish i had saved the extra money to begin with started off with the bigger lift rather than gradually working up to it through body lift and level kit.

I wouldnt get 37's, get 38's. Plus you also need to add in the install of the body lift, which down here in Florida is running about $1000, then you need to regear, not to mention the price for installing the suspension lift, mounting tires, alignment. Its all the small stuff that adds up real quick.

i'd say forget the body lift. they make much bigger suspension lifts for your year truck. at least up to 12" i know for a fact. ive always viewed body lifts as toppers for trucks that just need a hair more or for people that just want a little lift for very cheap. suspension lifts are superior though. in terms of preformance. i mean, a 6 sus plus 3 body lift compared to a 9 inch sus lift, in a mudhole, the 9 inch is gonna be the far better option

You're talking about around $2k in labor costs for the suspension and body lift, then add another $1500-$2k for gear parts + labor....
That's $4k on top of your parts list of about $4k.....
$5k-$6k is only realistic if you do all the install work or most of it alteast
If you're going to spend that kind of money you might as well go all suspension lift instead of suspension+ bl......

Thanks for all the replies everybody - I already have a guy that's going to do all the labor, to include mounting/balancing/alignment of wheels and headlights...basically everything and he gives a lifetime warranty on all the work he does for $975. So my total with all parts listed plus install would be $5211.92 and the guy said he's more than willing to work with me on the price so everybody's happy.
mhockey9090- that's one very bada$$ truck you've got there, I might have to come down from NC and "barrow" it for a few years. I tried to check out leveling pros but their site is under construction currently. I'll send out an email with the products I need. Anybody know of companies that offer good military discounts? I've got 10% from a couple places so far...

Apparently that may be the case for some people, however with the 6+3" kit, wheels, tires and lifetime warranty complete install which also includes the tire/headlight alignment my quote from the shop here was right about $5500 and they said they were willing to negotiate on the price somewhat to keep everybody happy with the end result. I've had a lot of people recommend that I go with the 8" Rize kit, switching to that kit I'll be getting 1" less lift and paying about $2000 more. It's not like I'm looking to have the craziest hardcore off-roading truck, just something to be able to get out and enjoy some fun times, without going completely bankrupt.....and keeping my wife happy.
