You won't know until it's installed, every truck is different. To lengthen you can either get a spacer or you have to get a new driveshaft made.

With an 8" BDS lift kit on an 07, will a 20x9 with 5.5" backspace (+12mm offset) stick out past the fenders? Tires will be 37x13.50x20 if that helps...

thanks!

I'd run 4.5" backspacing if you want the tires to kick out past the fenders. While they will with the 1350 tire, if you are wanting it a few inches past the 4.5" will get you that look. I'd also be curious to know if you would rub the frame with 5.5" backspaced wheels with a 13.5" wide tire.

Sorry if this has been answered already. I don't think it has in this thread, at least. I did read the whole thing a while ago and I don't remember this question being answered..

but what are the pros/cons to each lift type mentioned in the OP?

3 Ways to level your truck:
-spacer (autospring is a popular brand at a good price)
-adjustable struts (bilstein 5100's and rancho's quick lift)
-coilover

Spacer is a cheap way to get the lift for those on a tight budget

adjustable struts are a good alternative if you are needing new shocks at the same time

coilovers will give you the best performance and adjustable height, although costing substantially more than the other two options

When do you need to change gears when doing a lift? 6" and 35's or what? I am thinking of doing a 6" RCX lift, but if i need to change gears with a 6 but not a 4" I will do a 4".

size of lift has nothing to do with gear ratio...tire size does

Okay, can you elaborate on that for me? I was going to run 35s on stock rims with a 6 inch RCX lift.

From RCX website:
Wheel Backspacing: 4.5"
You cannot run stock wheels on that lift.

The bigger the tire you run the harder your engine and transmission are working to complete one rotation vs stock tires. Thats why size of tire is what determines gear ratio to set you back to stock or whatever it is you want.

So is there a reason you deleted all of the good info from your first post yesterday?

EDIT: Damn! Did you spend all day deleting all of your posts here? I guess somebody whizzed in your Cornflakes...

I'll repost it up later tonight, after I go threw it and reorganize everything and mainly after I get home from class. As of now, what question were you looking for an answer too?

I am planning to buy a 2" leveling kit for my 2007 F150 S-Crew, but I wasn't sure if I should buy them from a vendor here or look on ebay. After that, I may buy an Add-A-Leaf (I think that's the name) for a 1" rise in the back. I have LT265/70R17 General Grabber AT2 tires on Expedition wheels, so I don't want to lift it too much or the tires will look small. I need to line the bed and get a tonne cover.

Here is a picture of the truck as it appeared when I bought it -

It belonged to the Cascade County (Montana) Sheriff's Department. I removed the overhead lights, LED grill lights, antennae from the roof, and the laptop. The above shot also shows the old tires/wheels. I plan to keep the prisoner partition, working video cameras, and shotgun/AR mounts.
