Ya i was planning on doing it myself. Ive just heard that body lifts are a little cheaper than suspension lifts. Are performance accessories lift any good?

The skyjacker lift is not a leveling kit from what ive read about it.

Heres the link:

Other than the skyjacker lift is there any out there that are similar to that?

ya ive read it a few times. I was just wanting some of other peoples personal opinions on my ideas.

Would that skyjacker lift be considered a "suspension lift" or somethign else? because it has the shocks and the rear leaf springs

no, a "suspension" lift uses a sub frame to drop everything to keep geometry similar to stock.

that skyjacker is a 3" leveling kit w/ an AAL which you DO NOT want. stick with a 2.5" leveling kit in the front. That will put the truck level.

edit:

suspension lift, look at all the extra pieces included compared to skyjackers

Yes PA body lifts are good, no a 3" level is not. They make them because people think they are suspension lifts and don't realize they will destroy front end components. Don't go over 2.5" and you'll be good and 2.5" should sit you perfectly level, but if you want the stock rake then put a AAL on. Thats why me and 06yz250f took the time to write these stickies of what is good and what is too much or bad.

The shocks just make it a more expensive leveling kit, like he said if it's not made to even try to keep stock geometry it's most likely not a suspension lift.

Ok. so the skyjacker kit is just a more expensive leveling kit. What does AAL mean?

I think i might start out with a 2.5" leveling kit and then go for some kind of body lift kit

AAL = Add a Leaf

for the 04-08 most AAL's you will find are 1.5-2". will stiffen up the rear ride, but if you have a load in your bed or a trailer hooked up often, they will be nice.

Wont do much hauling, probably mostley mudding, So i will try to stick with a leveling kit and then do a body lift eventually.

Another question, With a leveling kit and a body lift, will i have to buy extra parts? like having to extend brake lines or wires or driveshaft or anything like that?

Nope, if it's not included pretty high chance you won't need it. Especially with a leveling kit and body lift.

Ive been reading online about adjusting the torsion bars for some lift in the front. Is this a better idea to do this instead of using a leveling kit??

you don't have torsion bars. you need the leveling kit.

read through this thread, didnt see my question answered.

i have an 09 fx4

want to level out the front.

looking at autospring spacers.

they sell the front spacers separately, advertised as 2", which is what i want.
they also sell a 2" leveling kit that has rear blocks and U bolts.

if i only want to raise the front, why would i mess with the rear? is this for pinion angle and instant center? and if thats the case, why would they sell the blocks separately if lifting the front alone would throw the pinion angle out. i cant tell from the pics they have of the components if the rear blocks have different pitch and a quick search didnt enlighten me.

sorry if this has been asked before, i couldnt find it.

The 2" kit for the front is a leveling kit. They throw the blocks in with the other one for people who want to maintain the factory rake. No the kit will not throw off the pinion angle, the blocks are solely for the people who want to maintain the rake or lift all around to say they "got a lift kit".
