TXST8tj,

I have a 2006 F150 Lariat screw 4wd. Based on #162 which is a 2007, do you think a 2" AS kit would work better than a 2.5" on my truck? Like you said, the difference between the FX4 in #172 and #162 is noticeable.

Kevin.

the 07 i worked on is a Lariat 4wd and i would say it would be exactly the same as yours otherwise. i would probably go with the 2" spacer , or go with the 2.5" with the idea that you might need to add a rear block.

Thanks for your quick responses, TXST8tj. Your help is invaluable and the reason that I (and I think most people) come to sites like this!

It is no problem and my pleasure! I think it's great when people can get the help they need through places like this to do work themselves, or to just learn more about what is being done to their vehicle if/when they pay someone else (such as myself) to do the work.

kevin, i have an 08 screw 4wd. I got the 2" from AS and it is perfect. He accidently sent me a 2.5" first and i assumed it was a 2" so when i got it on the front sat much higher.

every one seems to be different but i would go 2" first

I agree. Unless you have a FX4, everything I have seen says that 2" will get a standard/non-FX4 4x4 level. A 2.5" spacer will require a rear block to bring the back up to level. There is always an exception, so don't hold me to it, but that is at least what I see happening.

Thanks very much guys. Looks like I'll go with the AS 2" leveling kit. Now....what to do about tires???

The first pic is of my truck after I installed a 2.5 AS. [IMG][/IMG]

It set pretty much dead level. Keep in mind I have the fiberglass cover, line x bed and tools in the back weighing it down as well. I have the tow package but don't know if that changes the suspension any or not? I do tow often and with a trailer it set low for me so I added the AAL in this second pic.

It now is perfect even with a trailer. [IMG][/IMG]

Fingers crossed. Santa brought me a 2008 FX4 SuperCrew and I just ordered the 2.5" AS kit off eBay, based off these instructions. Wish me luck.

I just installed a 2" Auto Spring on "drew622"s Super Crew. He ordered a 2.5", but I am pretty sure they sent him the 2" spacers, which is a good thing because it sits perfectly level. It is at the alignment shop as we speak, and then he is taking it in to the tire shop for some 33" BFG ATs.

I'm stuck on my first wheel, can't get the strut back in with the level on top. The kit says to disconnect the lower sway bar, but I can't get the nut to come loose there, it just keeps spinning. Any suggestions?
