T-bars will bolt to the leafs and reduce axle wrap causing wheel hop. A good mod if you like to accelerate hard and not look like a fool on a wet day wheel hoping.

03 f150 4.2l burnout

I have a 03 f150 4.2 with 20s and no performance adds and it burns out fine but when from a complete stop I have to turn a corner to peel out unless it's wet outside

never been able to do that before

+1 for the v6
definitely +1 for the 6. my 04 heritage would do that in 2nd with 3.08 rear end. i regretfully never peeled out in 1st but i would get on it and when i would shift from 1st to 2nd around 40mph it would kick the rear end out about 6 inches and chip and it was on dry pavement with only a CAI on it. my 08 wont do it and it has the same CAI i took off the 04. i got my 08 to do it once on wet pavement tho from 1st to 2nd at around 30mph. my 08 is almost 500Lbs heavier than my 04 was so that could be why lol

im just sayin if your tires happen to start spinning and then your truck happens to start hopping, its pretty embarassing. and tbars fix the nicely, they also let you launch ALOT better.

my headlights are smoked, as are my fogs and i love the way the front of my truck looks now, and im not a huge fan of projectors
eventually i might get some lightning style lights with a black background.

projectors have CRAP for light output. aftermarket ones for our trucks, at least. i like the L heads or HD heads the best!

i appreciate the suggestion. and yes it is embarassing lol. but luckily with the 4.2L you can still rev it up a bit and drop it and not spin so you get a pretty good launch. could be better tho but hey, its a truck. also when i bought my projector headlights, i was looking for the harley davidson style which is the same as the normal f150s but has the black backround instead of the silver/chrome. i was looking on ebay and came across the projectors that looked pretty close to the harley ones and for only $140 compared to 120 for the harley style ones.

yeah i havent seen any good ones for the 97-03 style f150s. only reason the light output is crap is because of the size of the headlights. they have tiny holes so naturally you would get bad lighting out of it. the ones i got for my 08, the headlight is just about the same size as the stock headlights and i also bought some better headlights for my truck the 1st day i owned it. the light output is about the same as it was with stock ones except not as wide of a beam. it shows up round instead of it looking like a straight line across the top of the beam. makes it nice for fog since it points in every direction. i can have my high beams on in fog and see very well since it shines down more than it did before so it illuminates the road 10x better right in front of the truck. they dont seem to go as far, id say maybe 85-90% of what it was but that could just be my alignment being farther down than before. i thought about tweaking them so i raise them a little say a 1/4 turn of the screw every so often until i get flashed for having my high beams on when its my lows, then crank them back down 1/4 or 1/2 turn. overall tho i love them. plus if i drive at night with my halos on along with my headlights, the halos shine out to the side a little so it helps out with the not as wide beam i mentioned before. but right now id say the light output down the road is about 85-90% and to the sides is maybe about 75% of stock but in the center is brighter.

i have a set of halo lights for 97-03 f150's with the black backing... and there for sale... only reason there not in the pickup is i broke the damn mounts on one light trying to figure it out... im not one to have alot of patience so i rushed it and forced them a bit to much and both mounts broke on one light... wouldnt take much to fix it tho... i would but to tell you the truth i didnt really like the lighting of them... sure they looked sweet... but they shined up to high! and still would even when i adjusted them. when i was driving down the road with trees on both sides of me i could see the tree tops better then i could see the tree bottoms... and im not worried about animals in the tree tops hitting my pickup... im worried about the deer lol
the lights didnt shine on the road much is what im saying... so i just took the lights out put the stockers back in and called it a learning experience...
but i will sell them to you for 20 bux... got the mounts that are spose to be on it to... you would just have to figure out a way to fix them.
im sure you dont want them... and i dont blame you... lol if you dont want them there going to the garbage... so yeah

i think you replied to the wrong person lol, i already have mine and i have an 08. and yeah those pins in the 97-03 sucked, they moved around too much so it was hard to get them back in once you took them out. luckily the 04-08s are cake. undo 3 hex screws, lift a little flap and pull out. nothing moves on either piece of the truck(headlight or trucks mounting points) except for the little metal bracket thing that has the threaded part the hex screw screws into. make sure you dont make it fall or you cant tighten theat hex screw anymore because the hole will be too big.

I hate wheel hop. If i can build it up i can pull a two nice small marks. From a stop, and no building up, i can sometimes get it to chirp. I want to try it more after i get my exhaust and cam.
