Stock 4.6 Single Cab run?
I'll make a deal with you. I'm driving my truck up too Central Point,OR tomorrow.I should arrive there wednesday and stay about 2 weeks. You drive down and we'll race. If I win you gotta come back on here and tell everyone how great the 5.4 is and admit defeat. If you win i'll pay for your gas roundtrip. I'm talking about a bone stock 5.4 crew cab with 3.55 gears.
But you're more than welcome to extend your trip a bit and come up here north of Seattle and give it a go. But you would probably only get 18 to 19 MPG with that thirsty 5.4L so that would be relatively expensive!
That's a 1034 mile round trip from my home so no thanks. If your engine is stock, it's pretty obvious you would get dusted by a much lighter SuperCab with more RWHP and 3.73 gears.

If your from Washington state then it's not a 1034 mile trip down to Central Point,OR. I love people who jump the gun thinking with a mindset like you. It almost tempts me to just drive on up there and show you what that 4.6 doesn't have. Your correct running at 70 my truck does average around 18mpg's and if your gonna make outrageous claims about your fuel mileage then i'll throw a load of bullshi* your way while i'm in Oregon.
Peace!

Now to be honest, I could make it in 1028 miles but then I would have to take a Washington State Ferry and that would add two-three hours and $40 to the trip.
Just not worth the 6 miles it would save me.

Please do, you are still invited!

Shhhhhh...I got him right where I want him. If you start talking like that there will be no
i knew that would get your attention. and to your comment, im not worried about my 5.4. its not in any danger from a 4.6 anytime soon. niether is 2004triton5.4's.
thats funny coming from you and your 4.2/3 v6?:o
This threads gotten way off of its original topic. Some of you are getting your feathers ruffled over something thats not that big of a deal. Were all Blue Oval owners here who enjoy our trucks and enjoy our V8s, can't we just at least act like you don't have to prove something every 5 seconds.
Both the 4.6 and 5.4 are great engines, does it really matter which one of them gets to the end of the 1/4 mile faster when thats not what they were designed for.

It only matters in the racing forum.
My truck has more RWHP, lower gearing and a broader spread of power near peak HP.
I'm not worried.
Im not afraid to race a 5.4 in my V6 besides thats old new, I got a V8. 4.6 2V
