I'd think high 16s low 17s like Neal stated..my 97 4.2 ran low 18s stock so the 4.6 would/should be a bit faster.

 

My '03 4.6 is rated at 231 stock.

Yeah, I forget which year the 4.6 changed power output. I know in 99, the 5.4 went from 235 hp (97-98) to 260 hp (99-03, 04 heritage). I think '01 was when the 4.6 jumped to 231 from 220.

 

dam so the heritage model 4.6 should out gun the newer bodystlye 4.6 cause the weight diffrence between the two trucks.

 

Except for the 2009 and newer 3V 4.6L which has some serious get up and go. With the 6 speed tranny there would be no competition. It's only rated at 292 HP but it seems to out-accelerate the 5.4L and rear wheel dynos often show higher output on the 3V 4.6L compared to the 5.4L. So, with the 3V 4.6L's 100 lb. weight advantage, it will likely be the fastest quarter mile F-150 in stock form without any blowers, etc.

But 5.4L owners do not want to admit it.:o

I have actually raced a 2009 F-150, 4X2 with the 4.6 3-VALVE, with my 2007 Ranger. Wasn't even close. Ripped him out of the hole by like 4 truck lengths and just kept pulling on him. I shut down at 150KPH and he was like 8 trucks behind. We shot the crap after wards. He couldn't believe a Ranger whooped him like that. lol!

You should pay attention and follow along a bit better. If you had paid attention you would see my comment about the 6-speed was in response to this:

Obviously, I was simply pointing out that the newest trucks have the option of a 6-speed when bought with the 3V 4.6L.

 

When people ask nicely I'll generally help them with their homework. But, if you want to be rude, you can go do your own homework.

I will say the only two sets of independent dyno runs that I've seen published for the 4.6L 3V and 5.4L (both stock) both showed the 3V 4.6L making slightly more power than the 2009 5.4L. You, rude one, can try to find them on your own.

 

My 08 4.6L 2V has 248hp stock. THey bumped it up in 2008 from 2007 but the torque stayed the same at 293ft lbs. The hp may not be a huge difference over the 4.2L but it has a much better power band and lower rpm torque. I owned a 99 F150 Singlecab 4.2L and I can say, that even though my 08 is a little heaver, the truck is a whole other animal.
