Studebaker ?? NICE !!

And ya, the Roll bar.hoop is coming along nicely but slowly. I hope to have it in and done by the end of the day. Taking a nice long break right now tho ! I'm lazy ! and hungry !

Oh, and the Zuk is going ! I am determined to get it out there, even if its just for the lighter stuff, it'll let me test out some of the suspension and what not.

I feel bad for Dan, his cage was almost finished by Rob, now Rob is down for the count, and Dan is stressin about the Heep. We are picking it up tonight, I am going to see whats left to be done (heard not much) and might try to finish the welds.

yeah i bet hes anxious, id feel so much safer in that thing if it had a true cage, is it exo or inside?

glad to hear your bringing the zuki

i was planning on filling up at the stations near the park but the only price i found was a 76 with 3.95 regular, im pretty sure there are other less name brand and therefore cheaper places but im guessing no lower than 3.80 for those of you traveling far enough to need to fill up.

Ya, he;s stoked and stressed all at the same time.

Cage is inside, eventually it wont have much of an outside ! Trimming and choppin most of the back off.

Not worried, I will use the closest Chevron. Its the only gas I use (Shell if need be) and only Premium. Up here Reg is almost $4.00 and I am paying close to $4.10 .... so $3.80 would be SWEEEEEET !!!!!

Haha, yes I do. I was meaning to write that the park was 35 miles due west of me. Oh well, I knew what I meant.

As for the Studebaker, well it is a project... but not a new one. I started in on it with my Pops when I was about 10.

Mike Troyer.

Top Fuels by energy content on the west coast(all are "top tier" gas providers):
1) Union 76
2) Shell
3) Chevron

I'd stick away from the rest of them. Valero can be decent sometimes. Theres a reason some gas stations sell at considerably lower prices, and that is because their fuels are diluted.

Ive always run 76 and one time i was really low and HAD to put in some gas from an ARCO station, and i immediately noticed my engine started pinging. Once i got through that gas, i put 76 back in and voila it was back to normal.

Also, many places sell cheap because Chevron will only allow Gas to sit in its tanks for roughly 30 days, after that it is considered "tarnished" and they sell if off to "Costco" "foodmax" and other cheaper places. Yes ARCO is known as a pretty "cheap" gas. IMO, its pay now or pay later.

I will try and turn up some of my literature laying around, I went to a "class" (one day + meal type event) on different gas. Between that, and my old man's expereince in the business (30+ years) Chevron is known as the best, Shell and 76 coming in right behind (and very similiar)

mSal: You have any paperwork ? Where did Troyer get these results ? It may be correct in another state, but CA has its own gasoline standards (which gives us the short end of the stick) So, it would be interesting to see if he takes that into account.

i always knew that the lower prices were ususally cause of lower quality but i didnt realize some had more energy than others. i thought all 87 was 87 etc. guess ill be looking for 76s from now on, assuming its not some kind of deal troyer has with 76
