Have you given any thought to the possibility that the shop may not be installing the controllers correctly? Do you know which part of the controller is failing?

Oh yes the thought of course has crossed my mind, but the second time they were installed the tech was on the phone with Mr. Troyer's staff going step by step to ensure proper installation. Mr. Troyer said that all of the damaged controllers were broken at the circuit board, possibly from jiggling it back and forth when I/we removed the relay switches. Mr. Troyer insisted that the relay switches not be removed because it will damage the circuit board.

I understand his instructions, but in all 3 cases, here I am just your regular John doe, truck overheats, I notice the fans are not working, I trace every wire to make sure none were loose and finding out that the relay switches were melted. Ding, what comes to mind, no problem I'll just hot wire it so I can make it down the hill and purchase a pair of relay switches at the nearest Pep Boys. But Mr. Troyer insists not to attempt to remove the relay switches, but to remove the controller all together and send it back undisturbed.

The day that I spoke to Mr. Troyer, I first went to the shop then I dialed his number. All 3, (Manager, Service Rep. and Tech) heard Mr. Troyers conversation. For which reason I stated before that we are all on the same page and working towards a solution rather than fixing blame.

All I can say is Flex a lite stands behind there product 100% sent me 2 new motors and an updated controller free of charge even though it was over a year old. I spoke to Mike about tuning a few years back and he seemed to be a real cool down to earth guy. I would think he out sources a lot of the parts he sells so his loses when something like this happens. Your loss as well. Sorry to hear it =(

I did today.... It will bolt right up. I would like to see the wiring prints on both vehicles to see if you could wire it like the factory or go with a after market control system. But the fans would mount no problem to the 2009.

That's great Steelcitykid. I wonder if it would work on the 2005 trucks. That would be a great set up, everything factory.

I finally picked up my truck yesterday evening with the 2 new controllers installed now inside the cab. I also asked for the auxiliary switches to be re-connected in the event the controllers fail again. So far I've driven the truck about 50 freeway/expressway miles, so far so good. Tomorrow I'll take it trail riding in the same area you see on the video down bellow.

I have Troyers fans and bracket set-up, but I will not use his controllers. I have had mine hooked up to a DC Controller for about a year and a half now without a speck of a problem with the system
