I didn't have to trim anything. Not sure what would be different for you. Make sure that the bottom of the radio is not sitting on the kit I guess. I made sure that it was centered in the kit.

Aww. Should have bought my customer's. comes prewired with the switch connected and attached wire harness from his focus. The switch attaches to the parking brake wire and is similar to the alpine video bypass. You have to flip it on,off,on,off and it will bypass the video lockout.

Nah, I got it for much less. So do I just get a switch, wire the parking brake wire to one short prong and ground the other short one?

Something like this?

I didn't use a lit one but that would work I guess. I used a simple lever type. Just connect one pin to ground and the other to the parking brake lead.

Mine it still getting stuck I had to pull it all the way oout. Do you by any chance know or have pictures of what holes you used on the sides of the unit to screw in the harness. It woul be much appreciated.

Isn't there slots in the mounting plate? You should be able to adjust the plate so it doesnt hang up.

Ok well I have the face plate which connect to the two side arms which connect with screws to the sides of the unit. I have tried every possible screw hole. pulling it up down forward and backwards, but it simply will not sit perfectly right. I am ok with it being pulled out. But I just wanted it to sit flush so bad.

Is the kit you used in fact a Metra brand kit that we are talking about?

There are other brands avialable such as ones by Scosche model #FD1426B, Bestkits model #BKFD1432B, American International offers one as well but can't remember the number.

The dash kit that I have used is the Metra 95-5812?

Yes this is the kit I have, The red circles are the holes I am using now with it pulled all the way out. The yellow ones are the holes I tried to use to flush it but would get stuck on the bottom of the kit.
