Alpine W205 update.

Looks like June is the new arrival date. Called Alpine today, the official word is that they have too many W200's still in stock....they have to sell them off before they ship the 205. When asked if they were going to discount the 200's the customer service rep just laughed at me.

Good news though, my truck is going to the body shop a week early to replace all the damage from the break in.

Oh they agony.

Well, that sucks on the release date. But at least your KR is on it's way to being fixed.

Surely they would start discounting the old model if they have as many as they claim. Makes since to me, but what do I know?

Saw that a few days ago, called them and they too confirmed that the release date was still not decided. They are offering the best pricing on it so far...and taking pre orders.

Hate to spend a few hundred more but I my guy says he can still get them.

I am going to call Alpine today and post back what I find.

JP

EDIT: Just got off the phone with Alpine, they said they are receiving the 3rd week of April then sending out to dealers. Looks like May.

I am interested in what Alpine says. Let us know!

Meanwhile I will head over to Crutchfield and see what they have.

Tried to preorder from Crutchfield and it says it does not fit my 05 F150. Do you think this is just an error?

Should be an error. No reason it will not fit.

Also noticed no mute button. That seems odd.

The mute button will be present on the screen and it will auto mute when receiving a phone call.

yes it is an error that it won't fit the 05's.

EDIT: forgot to tell you all that Alpine is completely sold out of W200's.

Yep, I missed your edit. I too found that Crutchfield was showing the W205 wouldn't fit.......an error on their part for sure. None is stock and all you can do is sign up for an email when they do receive them.

That being said, I am installing my Pioneer AVH-P6800DVD this weekend. I got the DVD bypass. I just need to pick up some connectors.

Coworker had his W200 installed and the installer said they have gotten a few W205's in his store already. Should be seeing these trickle out.
