hello all

Hi guys. First of all, I just wanted to say hello from the Omaha area. I am new to the forum and I just got my first F-150 about a month ago. 2006 FX4 Supercrew, and I absolutely love it.

The previous owner just put brand new tires on the truck to sell it. The truck has 65k miles, so I guess they were due. They are standard size, 275/65/18, Firestone Destination AT (all-terrains). They are in perfect shape with about 900-1000 miles on them, and actually are a pretty meaty looking tire. However, I would prefer to have another inch of tire in the wheel wells.

I am trying to sell these tires and I'm going to put them on Craigslist soon as well. I am really wanting $500 for the set. I can assure you, this is a great deal and the tires are near mint. Tire Rack sells this tire for $196/tire or $784 for the set, then your looking at $100 or so for shipping. You basically would be getting a $400 discount for having 1000 miles on the tires.

PM me if you're interested and I can email you pics. I read the tutorial on posting pics and I still can't figure it out. Thanks.

Hi TrueBlue, welcome. I'm a relative newbie, too.

It's a shame (for me) that your tires are 18", I'm looking for some 17" ATs or similar, I have a spare set of wheels, but no tires to go on them. I think those would have worked pretty well if they were the right diameter.

Darn. Yeah I hope I can find someone that needs these. It would definately be a win-win situation for everyone. I hate that I'm still going to have to fork over another $400 or so on top of this selling price, just to upgrade the size of tire, but I know I would really like some 33-34" tires. Thanks anyway for the reply, I thought it was really cool when I found this forum that there was a thread going from Omaha/Lincoln, pretty cool.

Welcome to the group! Unfortunately 18" tires are harder to find in a 33" for a reasonable price. Also, you will probably need a leveling kit to clear a 33" or bigger tire. I went with a 2.5" and it was about right.

PS-Very jealous of the True Blue, I looked all over for that color and could not find one that was reasonably priced!

I am loving those tires! You will have to keep us updated on how they wear next winter I will be due for some tires so I am looking at my options now.

Hope everyone's year is off to a good start I had the flu all week last week so I was just going to work and then straight to be when I got home.

And how is everyone dealing with our first real snow of the year? I think it will be time to play when 5 rolls around

So far so good on the new tires. This mornings drive in was about as bad as any drive last winter. Partly because I could not even get out of my driveway a few times last year so I never traveled in it! Supposed to keep snowing today and then get windy tommorow, followed by bitter cold!

I guess winter has finally arrived!

yea, I'm actually glad we got some snow. It's no fun to have cold without snow. Now the boys and I can go sledding instead of being stuck inside.

Last time we had just a dusting of snow we went sledding, but was too cold to stay out for long. I asked them, "do you know how adults go sledding?" then we did doughnuts in an empty lot. "Don't tell your Mom about this!"

Hey thank you. I actually did level it already, got it put on about 3 days after I bought the truck. Went with the 2" AS. You're right 33's on an 18" wheel do seem pricey. I was looking at the 275/70/18 BFG AT KOs.

Oh and thanks also for the compliment on the color. Honest story, I was completely sold on wanting the True Blue color, but I couldn't find one locally. Looked in Omaha, Lincoln, Grand Island, Des Moines, Souix City, and Kansas City. Finally after about 4 months of looking I found one in KC.

I really need to get some pics up on this sight, might wait for a good spring cleaning first though. Or maybe some shots in this foot of snow I got outside.

looks like you guys in Lincoln got some snow. I didn't think it was bad enough to cancel classes at UNL though, but I'm in Omaha. We probably got 8" total.

It really wasn't bad enough to cancel classes, but it was the first snow worth mentioning around here, so there was some panic.

I have to say, it does keep the traffic down some when they cancel school, plus I don't have to drop my oldest off at school.

Hey guys, whats up? I can't seem to find the info or pictures I need. I'm looking for a how to on removing a factory stereo from a 2007 F150. A friend of mine came to me and wanted me to take his out. I haven't seen the truck yet. I know in my 2003 the center piece comes out quite easily. Just wondering if its the same for a 2007.

If the 2007 is like the 2004, and I believe it is, just reach under the bottom edge of the trim around the radio/HVAC controls, and start tugging. Use a trim panel tool if you like, but once it gets started, just keep pulling.

You'll have to unplug the passenger airbag light connector to completely remove it.

It just pops off if he has a lariat or one with a center console the "wood" panel just pops off and then there is 4 screws holding it in place. Very simple I have not worked on one with out a center console so I can't comment on how they come off.
