Pacesetter long tube headers(on the way), maggie high flow cats and flowmaster 10 series delta force single chambers hopefully true dual dumped before the rear axle(maybe a side exit before the rear tires, haven't decided yet.)
Call Car Quest in Moyock and ask for Rick Shields. Custom work done right!

Took my humpbacked F-150 to Freedom's Super Body Shop in Chesapeake today to get an estimate and fixed (was rear ended on the 19th) and picked up an Ext cab V6 F-150 as a rental.

I must say I'm non-plussed about the new F-150 so far. I know it's probably just because I'm not used to it yet, but it just doesn't feel 'right'.

Anyhow, has anyone had any dealing with Freedom's body center(s)? So far they've been good to deal with.

Their Norfolk body shop has done work for me before. I didn't know they had a Super Body Shop in Chesapeake, too. They did a great job on a 2001 Saleen I used to own that was involved in a hit and run. Someone swiped it in the parking lot on the passenger side just behind the door. I also took a bumper in for them to repaint. They may not be the cheapest, but the body and paint work is top notch! If either of my current vehicles needs body or paint work, I wouldn't hesitate to go back again.

Just curious, what doesn't feel "right" about the new F150's? I've owned a lot of Ford trucks (mostly F150s) of varying years and I love my 2007. It definitely feels right to me!

Just chiming in from the North.
I gotta say I miss living down there. I lived in Norfolk, then Va Beach, and then Moyock on puddin ridge road right off of battlefield blvd. This was over 10 years ago so I'm not sure if the road names have changed. I really miss the tidewater area. I don't miss having to buy liqour at those ABC stores.

hey ruger43, Moyock sure has grown and continues to. Now instead of taking Battlefield all the way down there, you take the Chesapeake Expressway. Virginia Beach native here, living downtown Norfolk, working next door to the Acredale Saddlery.

Is Chesapeake Expressway the new name for battlefield blvd or is it something totally new and different?

Yeah, that area will always be dear to me. Finally after 10 years, I think the misses and I are going to take a trip back. ( She's never been there ). I also miss fishing in Back Bay and hunting out by Smithfield. That whole Tidewater area is a little piece of Heaven.

Well for one it's not my truck so I wasn't used to it. It's 2WD so it rides smoother than my Screw. It is definitely quieter than my truck! LOL I think it has the 4.6L and while it ca move along on the highway it doesn't seem to have much grunt. Not that mine does, but it makes enough noise to distract you. It's not a bad truck, just different. I don't like the seats very much and the radio is in the wrong place and awkwardly placed IMO. Having driven my Bro's 'new' 85 F-150 with a tight 4 speed w/granny gear home from VA Beach it was a pleasure to hop back into the new truck!

Aww that sucks, I got rear ended a few weeks ago too! young kid not paying attention in the rain. I lucked out thought, he had a neon and slid into my hitch step bar, screwing up his headlight, grill and hood. And he only scuffed up my bar, didnt even really dent it. Man, i guess i lucked out on that one, sucks for you though.

Hey anybody ever cut down a bunch of trees around their houses? I got like 10 to take down, a bunch of gumball trees. My neighbor and i were going to tackle it this weekend, any suggestions? We got a gas chainsaw, a 15ft pole saw a 4ton come-a-long, and some heavy duty ratchet straps. We are hoping to use the straps and ratchets to help direct the trees.

Sounds like you got lucky ruffn-it! I just spoke to the guy at the body shop and they ordered the wrong stickers and they were sent the wrong bumper (I guess the SCREW has a unique bumper?). Hopefully I can pick it up tomorrow.

As for the trees, BE CAREFUL! It's dangerous work, but you can do it safely.

You can see the official procedure here.
http://forestry.about.com/od/chainsaws/ss/fell_tree.htm

Just remember
1. Don't try to force a tree to fall in a direction other than it's already leaning unless you have to.

2. Tying it off can cause it to fall in a way you don't want it to.

3. #2 is especially true if you tie it off close to the ground (less than half the height of the tree)

How big are the trees?

How'd the tree cutting go?

I went to pick up my pickup yesterday but it wasn't a pretty sight. Needless to say I rejected the repairs and am now waiting to see what is going to happen next. Details will be posted once this is all over.
