OMG this is fast!!! video.
Wolff,
I made the erroneous post you were talking about. I've had several sportbikes since 83. I sold my last one almost 3 years ago when I was 42. I read all the mags religously until about 6 years ago.
The 100 HP statement was a fact. Back in the late 80's and early 90's we had more powerful bikes than the europeans. They agreed to limit the horsepower before the government stepped in. If you read the whole post you should have noticed it said I did not know if they were still doing that. Apparently they are not because the american models were getting so far ahead of them in horspower.
Here's another piece of history for you. Around the late 80's a
Senator Danforth wanted to limit the horsepower on american models. There was a nationwide petition drive by bike owners that made his idea fade away.
It's because of people like me that you younger guys are enjoying 140-160 HP bikes. I signed the petition back in the day.
Former MSSR (MidSouth Sport Riders) member. In the beginning.

I read the UK mag and thank the Stars for America!!!! Some of the crap their politicians and police pull would never fly here.

I dont know.
Is it just my eyes or does the scenery (I.E. Lines on highway and the turn around lanes for the restricted access road he's on) go by way to slow for that 220 mph run? That looks more like 120 or so. But it could just be the Video. Anyone know for sure? Check it again. Look at the oncoming traffic...way to slow for 220mph...LOL.

That's SuperKaoss, who's a frequent poster on suzukihayabusa.org. That was his 2001 bike if I am not mistaken without a turbo but it did have some gearing changes and the new 220mph speedo faces. I had to correct my speedo with a Yellow Box when I did the 43 tooth rear sprocket and that required about a 12% reduction in the speed reading to be accurate. When I switch from my 185mph gauge faces to the 220's I will have to correct another 10-13% for it to read accurately. So, the speedo in the picture was off by about 20-25% (40-50 mph) which Super has even admitted on the Hayabusa boards. He was actually doing about 170-175.

Thanks CornerCarver, info greatly appreciated!
I knew my eyes were not decieving me. That just didnt look like 220+mph. I might take a WDS and change my tire size and rear end ratio so that my speedo is waaaaay off too. And then take some vids of getting to 140mph in like 10 seconds....LOL.
