i don't think that is even possible to be real. how does the speedo show acceleration when it is driven by the front wheel and the front end isn't even touching the ground? i realize that the wind will spin the wheel some, but not that much.
also, don't you think the wind would push the bike over?

No , the wind wouldn't push the bike over.
Here are some specs from
This article in Roadracing world magazine:
Theoretical Speed In Gears At Redline:
6th
199 mph
5th
183 mph
4th
162 mph
3rd
137 mph
2nd
108 mph
1st
80 mph
A few other things to consider...
1) Stock Bike speedo's are notoriously inaccurate.
2) This guy could have changed his gearing and made it taller than stock, which would change the MPH at the shift points.
3) Stock this bike makes @ 160 HP and goes @ 190 mph.
I have seen a turbo/intercooled Hayabusa on a Factory EddycurrentDyno putting out @ 280 hp. So 220 mph? I doubt it.. Over 200mph?? Very possible.
Press intro from Roadracing World
RTKILLA, I would say your HP and Speed estimates may be a little high, but either way, that video may be fake or not, but it is possible. Also , welcome to the chicagoland sportbikes bbs, there are some good people on that board.

That's SuperKaoss, who's a frequent poster on suzukihayabusa.org. That was his 2001 bike if I am not mistaken without a turbo but it did have some gearing changes and the new 220mph speedo faces. I had to correct my speedo with a Yellow Box when I did the 43 tooth rear sprocket and that required about a 12% reduction in the speed reading to be accurate. When I switch from my 185mph gauge faces to the 220's I will have to correct another 10-13% for it to read accurately. So, the speedo in the picture was off by about 20-25% (40-50 mph) which Super has even admitted on the Hayabusa boards. He was actually doing about 170-175.
Only kinda related
Check this beast out...can you imagine the first 3 seconds before you just exploded?
562rwhp...ON A BIKE! Insane! I love it!

If you read "Performance Bikes" (from the UK, best bike mag there is.) the new UK record is a Busa at around 210mph or so
BUT IT TOOK WELL OVER A MILE TO REACH IT!!!!
still a great video! fun to watch guys with big *****, in action.
You know there is nothing more I like than to see some fast bikes, but riding your bike on a two lane road with oncoming traffic borders on total insanity. The potential for an accident and killing someone is extremely likely. What a bunch of morons. Let's put the bikes out where they belong, on a track and or roadcourse and let them rip then.

wolff,
What actually happened is that the top speed wars between the Hayabusa, ZX-12R and the Honda Blackbird XX led the European Union to place a 300kmh (approx. 186 miles per hour) top speed limit on all sport bikes. Hence the current "neutured" Hayabusas and ZX-12's...although the Suzuki can easily have its "manhood" restored with a $50 part called a TRE (timing retard eliminator). It's simply an inline resistor that is placed in the gear position sensor circuit and it makes the bike think that it is in fifth gear (which is not limited as is the map for sixth on a Hayabusa to limit the top speed to the EU mandated level).

blown318,
Now that is an awesome video. Very real indeed.
As far as the other video, now we know that it's a farse. And like I said earlier, no turbo. There is no way to know how fast that he actually went, but that is some good logic CornerCarver. It would have been real cool to see without the speedo on it.

It's got to be kilometers per hour. That bike would have accelerated to 210mph faster than a Pro Stock bike. They make almost 400 HP.
I believe the fastest open bike at Bonneville (5 mile run) is only about 230 MPH

Holy crap, that is FAST!!!! You gotta love doing a wheelie up to 140mph, and an 11,000 rpm redline!!!!! That thing got up to speed incredibly fast also.
KM or MPH, either way, IT IS FASSSSSSSSSSSSSSST
