Started my own blower porting!

Overall the blower wasn't that hard to pull of. A few bolts were a paing to get loose at first but that was it.

Does anyone know the torque specs for the putting the blower casing back together and the torque specs to place the blower back on the lower manifold???

I've got almost 2 weeks to get it back on. So I'll be racing!! I just won't have as many things painted as I wanted.
Got a lot of work done, all I have left is the port matching, wet sanding, and putting it back together.

OK....one more helpfull hint 
Dont be afraid to pull the intercooler....you are only 4 bolts away.
Just drain the coolant and remove the 4 bolts and 2 hoses at the back of the manifold and it lifts straight off.
I used probably 4 or 5 cans of brakleen to get my cooler cleaned.
The gaskets are reuseable

Just a heads up. You would be better off plugging those 4 slots rather than porting them out

2. How? What would block them up hold well, not get blown out into the intercooler?
Bad as L - I was going to do that but I may just hold off until this winter, because I also plan on smoothing out the lower manifold . I don't have much time and need this all done and back together by next weekend for Fords at Englishtown. But I will try and make time since I'm so close.
GoDogGo - yes most of it is smoothed already (read where the rotors go
) The outlet is rough with a line down the middle, the inlet and bypass is rough (suprisingly right after the butterfly on the bypass it smooth).As for noticable power, unfortunately I won't be able to report power increase if any. I have this habit of doing things on a whim. So no before dynos, no after dynos. Last 1/4 times were hot weather and now we have cooler weather, so no comparisons there.

The factory put those slots there to help quiet the blower down and it was at a small sacrifice to blower efficiency.
Herb J. and I both have covered the noise slots in our blower cases and we both used epoxy. Herb did his first and that was all he did and he reported that it DID make a difference. So I pulled my S/C off and did the same thing but I didn't stop there, I did the full port-polish and flow test treatment. I made plates and fixtures to mount the blower case on an SF 600 and tested 3 different upper manifolds, 2 blower cases....one stock and one modified and a couple different manifold spacer arangements.
My port job on the blower case started on a bridegport mill moved to a small CNC mill and then ended with hand grinding for finish.
As far as blocking the noise slots, we just put some tape inside the blower case and roughed up the under side of the blower and then poored JB weld in there. So far the stuff had held like iron ( as long as you prep it proberly). One caution would be that the whine or scream from the blower will be noticably louder.
Further more, the plugging the slot idea wasn't mine. I learned it from Jim D'Amore over 2 years ago. So if you don't believe me call the shop.
If you need more proof.....see my sig for times. I run at full weight, my computer chips are over a year old and have not been updated for the ported heads, blower and lower manifold.
its runs with tail gate up and I personally weigh in at somewere around 340lbs with helmet. It doesnt run a power cooler and no nawzzzz. Blower pulleys are 6lb and 2lb.

The outlet on the blower itself, was that mostly smoothed out or did you make it larger, if so by how much??

im about to rip off my blower and do the same thing. do you have to drain the blower oil first? thats the only part im confused about? where does it come out? will the fluid stay inside when you take the blower off(does it only drain out when you take the snout off)? that's the only thing holding me back from taking it off. oh and what type and how much fluid does it take? thanks guys
