Blower porting

Okay the time has come to pull off the blower and upper plenum and port match the two of them. Since I already did the upper plenum, I figure is would be a little more beneficial to match the two, plus while I have the blower off an apart it might be a good idea to port the blower also. Thinking about I should clean out the intercooler since I have the oil separator working and smooth out the lower intake also ...

So far this thread was the only one I found that contained info:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...blower+porting
and this thread had a little:
https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...rting+%2Aja%2A

Gotta few questions though:

What should be ported/smoothed out? Matching the intake to the plenum is a given. Smoothing it out: same as the intake plenum by making all the rough parts smooth? Is it worth it to remove anymore material then is necessary to make it smooth? And the exit of the air on the bottom of the blower, should that be enlarged at all or left alone?

Also what about doing something with the blower internals? Is that even worth considering?

In the first thread linked above, RT mentioned "titanium shafts", anyone give those a shot or done any research on them? or in the second thread linked above:

Get a 2lb lower pulley. If you want more, upgrade the blower internals. (Let's see how many 4lb (and higher) pulley motors are still together this time NEXT year.) You can upgrade the blower with Jaguar spec rotors and gain some additional boost and get a coating upgrade (graphite vs. teflon). Upgrade the bearings/bushings in the blower for additional durability/reliability.
Does anyone have any more details on that? truth to it? prices?

As usual when I start doing this I will be documented everything and taking plenty of pictures!

easterisland,

You might want to contact Reality1 (Jim) as well. 11's with a heavy truck and only a 4# lower means he's doing something right with the stock blower

It got old for me after the upper plenum. But if offers some gains, I'm totally for it.

Thanks for the pics though. Those pics and the one in RT's gallery showed alot of what I was looking into doing.
