Started my own blower porting!
And dont forget you have to make spacers for the 2 front legs of the manifold also
Are you guys using Red Line supercharger oil in the front snout?
Just because it LOOKS like you need to remove metal to improve air flow IS NOT allways the case
badasL- seeing that nobody else makes the spacers, you ever think about making some and selling on ebay? im sure a bunch of us would go for that?
easterisland-thats exactly what i did to my bypass except i left a bit of a gap at the top, i didnt have the ***** to leave it on there though so i removed it before i bolted the blower back on. let me know how the truck runs with that blocked off........talk about instant boost.....i wouldnt be surprised if your cruising around with 0 vaccum or close to 0.......=O) when you putting it back on?
Easter - let us now how it runs. And what kind of grease did you use to repack the bearings in the case??
I am having such a hard time trying to find an aluminum slab 1/2 thick. Only 1 place I called this morning had one, and they never called me back.
Well tonight I'm going to get the blower back together and hopefully tomorrow night I will have it back on the truck.
Dale - find any pics of the upper intake that you reshaped?

I'm still not finished so I haven't put any grease in the needle bearings. I called Magnuson and they are real a$$holes. They won't sell the grease seperate and you have to send the supercharger to them for them to grease the bearings.
I need to go to some machine shops and price them making a spacer.
Should have the truck together by the end of the month...???

you been busy
.....wish the picture would have been from the other direction.....would like to see how you treated the roof and sides of the inlet.
capt.
To get pictures of the upper manifold off the truck is going to be a pain in the ****. But I will get them. I have to take it off the truck to get some good shots and it looks like the WashLo boys might be headin for Oregon for one more blast this weekend. If we don't go I will take care of it this on the weekend if we do go it will be another week or so.
LOCO
phenolic would work great. If you guys are handy with hand tools you could knock two holes in it with a hole saw and then connect them with a jig saw or small hand saw and then clamp it to the manifold and transfer the holes with a hand drill. Piece a cake
Grease: as I said before I used a red line synth is mine and it has held up well. I got about 2300 + miles on the blower this time without opening it up. And this coming weekend will put another 450 or so on it if we go to Oregon. I will drive down there with a 6 X 2 pulley combo on it. I think any good synth will do the job. Dale

Dale - if thats much to get the pictures of the intake plenum, then just wait until you pull it apart again, don't go through that much hassle.
About the bearings in the case, can I get away with using a generic Valvolene wheel bearing grease? Thats I all I have.
easter - I have to go to a machine shop to get the material for a spacer. I'll ask them how much it would be to have the spacer maching by them. If it's to much I'm just going to make it myself. I'll let you prices just incase they are cheaper then what you may be able to find.

bad, I was going to do the top like you did. I haven't seen any pictures of the inside so I was going to leave them alone. P.S. look at the pic #1 and #2 that capt. posted on his web site.
capt, That would be great if you can get a price or something. I may need to learn how to weld aluminum so I can do an upper intake.

easter - still haven't heard from them agian about the plate. So that company may be a no go
. Looks like I'm not going to have a spacer by friday. Oh well ...
... gives me time look more into it. Maybe we can get someone to make us a phenolic spacer.
Does anyone know about this???
