When you guys are putting this JB Weld in your blower, do you know if JB Weld will hold up to the temps being generated by the blower?

I don't know. If my built engine dies because too much JB weld went through it I'll just get another. I'm tired of waiting for a bigger blower.

captain,
With the spacer, do you have any problems bolting the EGR tube back in, or does it need to be modified too?

WHITE01XXX - you can remove just about all the oil with a pump, just make sure you get a hose small enough to make it down to the bottom of the whole. The hose that came with the pump kit I had was to large, so a smaller one did the trick. I had maybe a teaspoon size of oil fall out when I opened the blower. For sealing it up I just used a thin coat of RTV sealant. 8 ¼ mile passes in 2 days and not one drop of leaked oil.

Calightnin - I don't think the blower will get hot enough to melt down or effect the JB weld.

GoDogGo - still haven't put the spacer on, to busy racing. I'm going to hold off one the spacer until I give the floor reshaping a shot, that will be after I check out the pictures Dale will be sending me at some point (no rush).

Thanks CAPYAIN
The snout came off without a hitch, just a little messy but a fender apron absorbed it all, not much realy.
The pump woundt work due to the tube and i got impatiant and poped it off anyway, i am at a new level of confidance now with the truck.
Will press the hub off monday at the shop.
Now the latest question?
Due i have to pump the new oil in or do you just pour it in??

I have a few questions. Did you guys reinstall the blower case on the IC with the rotors out or did you put them in the case and then install the whole blower? Do you know the torque specs for the blower to IC bolts? Also did you use and loctite or sealant on any of the bolt threads? Thanks for any info... Jeff

If you look in my photo gallery I'm pretty sure I have the torque specs.

I would install the rotors and nose torque the bolts then install the blower assembly on the intake manifold. I believe you are supposed to use new bolts. I didn't last time I installed it and I didn't use locktite. Someone else may have a different opinion.

It's really not that difficult.. It took about 1 -1 1/2 hour to pull the blower and IC...You will be surprised at what you find too.. Can you say 3 cans of brake clean..

oops

Easter or anyone that wants a 1/2 aluminum spacer, check out this place:

http://www.centralsheetmetal.com/body.htm

Call up and ask for Wayne, he estimated that it would be about $125 to make. I let him photocopy the gasket so they have a template to make it the size of the gasket. Not sure if it's a good price or not. I'm sure if a few people went for them at the same time they may be able to get.

Jeff, I put the blower back together then put it on. I don' t think it matters anyway though. I think it would be a little easier to put the casing on the engine, bolt it down and them put it together only because you don't have to lift the weight of everything, and when you torque down the front bolts you don't have to hold it down.
