Bill,
Maybe I'll see ya at Cecil this year. Seems I only ran into you a couple times at NED. I'm trying to get a permenant job in Baltimore, and if this damn ship leaves the persian gulf, so I can get back there, I just may be able to call Cecil my "home track" this year!

That truck is KILLER! I can't wait to see it in person!

The stepped headers, and catless 3" mid pipes, give it a sound unlike anything I have ever heard. Allmost sounds like a 428 cobra jet motor. I had the misfortune to be standing right infront of the exhaust tips when Jim reved it up, my ears still hurt.

I hate to assume, but the lack of engine compartment pics makes it seem like the 4V heads didn't happen...

Or maybe its because the person has enough respect for the owner and personal integrity to not put something out before the owner is ready.

Some people need to go ***** in their own punch bowl instead of trying to get into others business. Take your agendas and express them to people who care. Christ, I guys getting his truck back, I think that is reason to be supportive and celebrate ....not be an a$$.

Wink

Thanks to all of the guys showing support. I really appreciate it.
To anyone that can't wait for Jim or myself to share all of the details with you, I'm sorry, but that is the way it is going to be. I am picking it up on this Wednesday, it won't be 100 percent finished to where I want it but I want to get it home and get some miles on it. It will be needing to go back down after JDM gets back from FFW in Georgia for some finish work and a race tune. But at least it will be in my hands getting some miles put on it. It might not be one of the quickest Lightnings this year but it should reach the goals that I had for it, which will still be pretty quick over all.
So for the people with the negative comments, say what you want, I don't care and I really don't think anyone else does.
And for the guys that have standed behind me through this project and are still there supporting me in this, I thank you again, you guys are the ones that make this Lightning board.
Bill

Wow, this stuff is really old. But I can't let this lie just go by.

Jim, you did NOT send me a new pulley when I returned the
one we had to SAW of the truck... You (or your minions, I think
you were out of town) sent me a reconstructed non-removable
4# pulley, and that is EXACTLY what I posted pictures off.
After calling you when I received that package, you finally
delivered what I thought I had purchased in May '02 -- An
interchangeable lower 4# pulley.

Why you put the 4# fixed on my truck originally is a fact
that I cannot fathom. I can only conjecture that you had
left over stock, and that by some "mistake", one of those
got put on the "old guys" truck that you thought you
would prolly never hear from again.

I switched to another vendor's chip when I could get almost
no satisfaction nor answers from you on why my truck ran so
poorly. Period. We even had long two hour conversations on
the phone about the situation and the only thing you wanted
to do was have me drive back out to NJ (12 hours) so you could
take the parts off the truck. From the beginning through TODAY,
all I wanted was the same performance others seemed to get
from your setup. But you wouldn't or couldn't accomodate that
request.

If it wasn't for the fact that another tuner felt so bad about the
way you had berated and treated me, I would still be running
most of your stuff. As it is, very few "Jim" parts are left and
as someone told me "There wasn't many go-fast parts there
anyway!" Believe me when I tell you that the $4,000 you got
from me was a mere pitiance of what I will eventually spend
with that "other" tuner. My whole goal was to have a fast
lightning, and I will eventually achieve that goal.

BTW, my best time was recorded the week after
I installed the other chip.

You can deny, reply, or whatever ... just don't lie ...

Cliff

Exclamation wow...

Wow... man you just switched to a completely different subject!!! Start a new thread there buddy... And as for ragging on Jim so harshly (IMO) that may be uncalled for... don't know the details about the situation so I won't further comment.

All I can say is that I will more than likely be doing business with JDM in the not so far off future (when I get me an '03) and I hope to be satisfied with their work just as the rest of you have.

Back to the topic... OMFG that setup is beastly!!! Awesome... purely awesome!!!!

Lets keep this on topic.

Cliff - You bringing your past history into thread after thread after thread is exactly what the New years resolution was designed to prevent. To bring back a quote from 4 months ago can only be meant to drive this thread off topic and into the gutter

however repeatedly posting negative comments or intentionally driving threads off-topic with "dead-horse" issues will result in:

1) Warnings sent by email for a first offense.
2) Banning for a second offense.

~snip~

IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH A SUPPORTING VENDOR, RESOLVE THAT ISSUE WITH THEM DIRECTLY, NOT ON THESE FORUMS.
Lets get back to the Topic - HD's truck.

HD - Hopefully I'll get the chance to see you and the truck again at one of the events this year. Looking forward to it. You have put up with a lit of crap from a bunch of busy bodies that just want to stir the pot, and you have for the most part avoided getting into it with them. Thanks for that.

Edit- One more thing
HD here is smaller version of your sig pic.
As wide as yours is many folks will have to scroll to see it. Save it to your gallery because it will fall off my server in a few days. I run REALLY high resolution and your sig still takes up a full screen both length and width.

Doug
