I was just glad to sell mine before it turned into an $1,800.00 paper weight.

Wow, what an interesting thread.

My 2 cents: Even though I have a KB 2.3 and am happy with it, there's no doubt in my mind that the Whipple is superior. Not by much, but superior nonetheless. I raced all season next to Don Justis's truck and he was consistently faster than me at less boost and our trucks are nearly identical as far as weight and suspension set-ups are concerned. I ran 19 psi with my KB and he ran 17 psi with his Whipple and I think I beat him out for #1 qualifier once and by less than a tenth.

If I didn't already have a KB, I would choose the Whipple in a heartbeat out of the blowers currently available. My 2.3 KB has been a great performer but I'm not impressed with what I've seen from the 2.6 thusfar. At least not enough to warrant the added cost to do the swap. I'm hoping the 3.3 Whipple isn't too far away. I want a blower that will run 9's right out of the box w/o nitrous. Unfortunately there's not a blower out that'll do that yet.

Oh, on a funny note, even with Jims hatred for anything made by KB, he has my truck running like a raped ape with the KB 2.3. 10.47, all blower @ 19 psi and 4500 lbs race weight.

We'll total up the cost from California and back the only two rules I want 1) the trucks weigh identical and 2) only blower no nitrous. Since this post is about superchargers it will be Whipple vs. KB.

Nope, the iron block is working just fine for me. I'd really like to have the weight savings of the aluminum motor but it's just not in the budget right now. I think it might be possible to get into the high 9's or at least low, low 10's with a 100 shot and everything else staying the same. I've got lots of faith in Jims tuning ability. I plan to install the nitrous sometime over the winter.

jim I have an iron block with the whipple and 100 shot so the potential is definately there for you too - 9.74 baby Who knows, If I had an aluminum block in there the truck would have gone 9.6x for sure

This just makes me all squishy inside, BUT!

Blower vs Blower is one thing, but how can you compare a 650rwhp truck with a whipple or a KB to an 700 or 800rwhp truck with a whipple or a KB. The motor still has to play into it, some of the motors are stage II cams some are stage III cams etc...........Even if the weight is even.
