Whipple Superchargers impress me!! Jim@JDM
well, since your reading this Jim...
Are you gonna be in the shop tomorrow or this weekend? Any chance I can get those updated email tunes JimJr has been telling me I'd see 'any minute now' these past few days?
Sounded like is was gonna happen yesterday when we spoke, but nothing in the inbox yet.
thanks!

This is kinda funny. It reminds me of the threads I read through when I joined the site. I read every post since the beginning of the Lightning forum to start my education of these modern hot rods.
Please take these beasts to the track, race all the combinations, and post up for our whole group to see. This is going to be a fun period in Gen 2 history. So many choices, many cheaper trucks available to build, and the bar set so high we know going in that it will take a serious effort to compete.
I need a bit more time to get my truck ready for the fray, but I intend to be in the mix! One season to learn about nitrous and it's capabilities, then max effort with a "BIG" power adder.

I have nothing to comment on the mudlsigning except that I also agree the TRACK is what proves a truck's worth. Can't wait to see some of the "big boys" line up.
With that said, I'm going turbo anyway, so I could care less which blower puts out the most power.
I will tell you though, that the Whipple is a gorgeous looking unit. All of us want to go fast, but quite a few of us want our engine bays looking top notch as well. Just my .02 cents.
Happy Holidays gang.

All I can say is Jim@JDM has spent more $ on sponsorship of Lightnings and wasted more $ on TRYING to build..Not 1..Not 2 ..But 3 of Jims own trucks (2 01 Lightnings and the 04 F-150) then most.
All three just sit there not even close to completeion because he is either traveling to Lightning events or trying to get his customers vehicles done. (Yes, mine included).
He has said every year over the last 3 years he was not going to travel to all the FFW events and spend more time in the shop and get his trucks done, but when the time comes we know he is going to be there for his customers that aren't geographically able to just drive to N.J.
Jim works 7 days a week..everyweek. He is never out shopping or mowing the lawn or just taking a day off.
One year he invited a couple of us over to watch the Superbowl and he left during the game to go into the shop to do more stuff. No big surprise.
Sure he could just say F everybody and finish his stuff , but he feels his customers come first..always.
So is he proud of the accomplishments of his customers truck. Hell Yeah.. and heres the kicker..SO IS THE CUSTOMER because the customer can take the truck home and enjoy it.
Bottom Line..At the track people don't ask what your tuners truck runs..they want to know what YOUR truck runs.

Well put, Vinnie. As a business owner I can appreciate what Jim does. Most shop owners(some which remain nameless) start off building a reputation by personally working on the vehicles. These are talented men. Then after some money comes in, they get behind a desk and deligate the work to a less qualified "mechanic". Soon the complaints roll in, and the owner then becomes a "problem solver". Not good. You have to get your hands dirty in this business.I'm 51 and I still turn wrenches. I always judge a tuner by his fingernails. And I can tell you Jim has a few cuts and scrapes on his mitts. Thats a good thing. Sal is a good example of that as well. Theres an old saying I go by. People do whats inspected....not expected.I know back in the day I had my Gen I, out of all Jim & Sal were passionate about these then unheard of trucks. After 13 years, there still at it. As far as these posts are concerned (egos aside), I look at the fact that everyone cannot be perfect, whether its with a product or service. What makes a good company, isn't a problem that they experience, but their ability to rectify it. Thats how you forge ahead.

Great advise.
Thats the number one thing I look for in a tuner. Its definately how good they tune, or fast and reliable there trucks run. Thats not important.
