If all else fails I'll pull my PCM tomorrow and see if we may have skipped something.

You think you feel bad, it's my chip out of my '99 that's giving the fits.

You mean static? Hope not. Dunno. The only thing different was I had Troyer update the program, other than that it worked fine in my '99.

either shock or maybe getting knocked around by a disgruntled postal worker. hopefully its something silly like a loose wire.
i have an unorthadox approach that a hillbilly taught me once that might work. it hasnt done me wrong yet..

It should withstand rough handling. Besides, he's removed it from the vehicle and it still won't start. It has to be in the existing connections. I'm still leaning toward a bent pin or connection isn't snugged down enough.

is there an anti-theft that would shut down the computer and not allow it to start if it thinks that its being tampered with?

There is an anti-theft in the key system but I've never heard of it causing this though.

if for some reason the anti theft device kicked in, it would cause the theft light to flash fast, but i dont know about the overdrive light. theres a way to reset that through the key fob...im probably way out in left field now...
