Is the pcm installed with the bolts that hold the lid on facing the inside of the cab and not towards the fender?

Did you take the pcm card out of the computer case to clean both sides of the contacts? Did you ground yourself before touching the card? Did you reassemble it correctly? The only thing left I can think of is take it all apart again and carefully reassemble making sure all connections have good contact. Definately recheck those pins on the harness

Yes, I took the card out, and I had one of those grounding pad thingies on the computer I used. All of the pins are fine. The card is in perfect shape, everything is back 100% correctly. One other thing I noticed is that when the chip is plugged in the switch leads wont allow it to fully seat, how would I get around this, if the thing ever works again.

You're right, the chip sits up a little because of the wires, they all do. All you can do is use duct tape to hold it in position.

Other than disassemble/reassemble I can't think of anything else to try. There are no particles that would create a crossconnection on the contacts you cleaned? Wipe them with alcohol and use a pencil eraser on them.

I used denatured alcohol, (what I use to clean the boards on electro-pneumatic paintball guns)and an artists eraser. All connections are clean, verified with a magnifying glass. This is rather odd. Could my computer be messed up?

It shouldn't be as you seemed to have taken all the precautions I can think of. Like I said maybe you'll see something on a reassemble or maybe wait 'til tomorrow and try Troyer as he hears it all so may recognize something we may have overlooked. Don't worry, you're not the first one with chip problems.

Its not the chip thats the problem, its the truck itself now. Its doing what it would do with the chip....but theres no chip in it. I have the negative unhooked on the battery. well see if that clears things up by the morning.

I know it's not the chip but it's associated with chip installation so he may have dealt with this before. Just be honest that you bought it used and the worst he can do is refuse to help. Assuming the PCM is okay that only leaves the different connections.
