Hmmm.. This will be a tough one. Oh wait, lets go back a few pages in the other thread, shall we? You forgot about this already?

Perhaps JDM modifies lightnings, but as I understood it, FORD produced the lightning.
The most fast? C'mon.
Reliable? No comment.

Yup, slow day at work today however someone has to do it.

gator just likes to argue to increase his post count

My question to you about billing, was to show you its none of anybody's business. The price of the complete longblock was on the tuners site for all to see. Not sure why you saw the need to ask Rob how much he spent.
Must be a busy day huh? 13 minutes after I make the post, your right back at it........LOL
Careful with that latte', I hear they are hot!

Happy Holidays
Cheerleader out!
Gator, this dude isn't even worth it. I see it as clearly as you do.
Some people just can't stand when someone has something better than their own "thing." They feel the need to throw in digs or ask silly questions.
Maybe we will get lucky and with his new found wealth being a great lawyer he will buy a SRT-10 truck and leave us alone. -Mat-

The people who want to drive on the street, and run exceptionally fast know where to get this done. Glad to see Rob join the ranks of satisfied JDM customers.
I am sure he will be able to attain his dream of a 10 sec. run and still drive 100 miles home afterwards. I will be there to do the same!

I think what sparks heated debate is what I would call the arrogance of the "JDM crowd". It is somehow superior to have a bunch of daily driven 10.x trucks versus some guys in the 9's with full race trucks. If JDM can deliver a bunch of 9.x daily driven trucks next year - more power to them. Common sense tells me if JDM tried to build a 9.5 truck today it would break more and maybe would be a trailer queen (which is what JLP and his customers are ridiculed for). This continued argument that daily driven 10's is the only things that matters is just beyond me.

And don't even try to paint me as a JLP cheerleader unless you call ordering one part ever off a vendor somehow indebting me to them. Just my observation.

I would not call myself, or most of the JDM customers I have met arrogant. I also believe the success of JLP with his all out trucks is amazing and give Johnny all the credit in the world.
I do, however, feel most people I know with Lightnings want a true dual purpose vehicle rather than a race vehicle. I do not want to debate that JLP's truck is or isn't a Lightning at this point, but if I wanted a race vehicle I would chose a much lighter platform. If I was so enamored by this platform I would tub one out(like Johnny) and drop in a blown Aluminum 700 cube monster in it and go mid to low eights. It would be expensive and in my opinion too much coin.
I love to surprise people on the street with my stock appearing truck. It is nice to see my goals are met so completely by JDM and their style of building. I guess that is why I chose them for my project $$$.

Coherent argument but this post was about Rob and his truck so let's not **** on his joy for achieving internet glory. As long as Rob is happy, then more Magnum Powers (so to speak) to him. :santa: lp

My comments weren't really directed to you Jim, I know you are a stand up guy. I'm taking nothing away from the engine program at JDM either as I have great respect for it. When someone comes on F150online, they probably think JDM is the only game in town with all the postings. There is life outside the east coast though I think you see more postings of success with other vendors over on NLOC. You rarely hear Dante's mentioned over here for example, while we know they do great work out in Cali.

Just trying to keep the f150online rhetoric a little balanced..

I hope to find out this year. I plan to attend LightningFest and meet with people from all over. Planned on it last year, but the motor bit the dust in August.

Not to stir the pot but i would like to see Rob put his truck on Sals dyno. Just want to see the differance in dynos. I hear that some dynos read different due to calibration. Are you up to it Rob?

Thumbs down

WoW, you guys are something else. What ever happened to simply congratulating someone>??? Now you want the man to spend money on dyno time to make the rest of you happy>??? Some of you guys are pieces of work.
I was planning on hitting a local dyno anyway to see what numbers I put down with a smaller upper pulley. If I do it I will be sure to make a pull with the same combo I dynoed at JDM to shut you people up. -Mat-

Well I am gonna throw you guys a curve ball;

How do you calibrate a Dyno then ??

A weighbridge is one thing - just bring a truck load of known value weights.
Then set up in stages & adjust (calibrate)

But how do you compare a Dyno - there is bound a little difference due to ambient temp / air pressure etc from when truck was done at JDM

Or what - god forbid if Sal's Dyno rated output power from Rob truck higher.
Now there is a thought !!

To be fair all the bitchin about suppliers and who done what is lost on me.
I have only dealt with UK suppliers and Summit but needed a one stop shop for my built motor & tuning parts, thats where JDM came in.

Give Rob some breathing space - he may be a big kid with a new toy for while, so what we have all been there at some time.

We have ways of dealing with bad Lawyers here - the boys up in the smoke give then some concrete welly boots then take them off shore for water sports.

There are different correction ratios to smooth the curve.
There are different "standards" (for lack of a better word) that take various variable into consideration of the equation. SAE, STD, there are others...

Quick Joke: (read this on another forums)
Hitting the Big Nitrous shot on your vehicle is like screwing an extremly hot girl with STD... You know you want to do it, but are afraid of the consequences.

Back to the regularly scheduled rant.
