Then came home and went back out again to get a very late dinner, and now I'm wating for the sunrise so I can go out there and start doing something ??? hehehehe

This morning will be fun going to work, no extra Motor to lug around in the back, and clear roads, WOO HOO.... Of course last night was traffic city being the day before x-mas eve. I dont even think I've gone more than 1/2 throttle yet

NOTE TO SELF:
JUMP OUT THE MF SEAT TODAY AND STOMP THAT SOB THROUGH THE FLOOR

Love the Motor, Love the Cams, Love the Sound (honestly havent got to enjoy the power YET
Oh but I will, oh but I will

Sure is strange that Rob only has 3 posts on the front page........He must really be out driving his truck!!!

I believe that Las Vegas has set the over/under for new posts from Rob at 10 before the New Years.

I just played it 100 times on the over
Wonder what I should spend my winnings on

I know Gator, do you believe that
This dam single Dad I have to do everything for x-mas is a real time killer, hehehehe

Chim, at work now, BUT I experienced some sort of problem on the ride in ?
Any time I try to give it a decent amount of pedal something is going on in the rear ? THE TRUCK KIND OF STARTS GOING SQUIGGLY, AND THEN I NOTICE WHAT APPEARS TO BE LOSS OF TRACTION, AND THEN THIS REALLY COOL SOUND

Actually I am VERY PISSED OFF to report I had like TOTAL loss of brakes on the way in @&^$%(@$%@($(@$ and I mean two feet standing on the pedal flying through a stop sign failure @$^%@$(@$%(*@$
There is no doubt it is total loss of the front brakes from the system
I had to basically crawl the rest of the way so I could assure to leave enough room to stop. But a few minutes later they seemed to start to improve again.

I guess I should order a Master Cylinder and start there ? cause I AM NOT going through another year of this. (and yes up to this point they have so far been perfect, and prob will be again when I start it up in a few hours to leave) This has now been going on (and off) a few years now and through diff pads and bleeding attempts, and now three diff motors)

Of course I was getting on it HARD for the first time CAN YOU SAY "OH YA", when it happen @$(&^@%$(&^@$%(&@$

Thanks Ricki
BTW, if that was my X, she wouldnt be my X
I'd just have sewed her mouth shut
And HELLZ YA YOU CAN HAVE HER (you'll find here somewhere on the net)

EDIT
Ok maybe sewing her mouth shut was the wrong choice of words
Taking the voice box out would be a better choice

Ok Rob maybe I will pass on the ex
The cost of shipping her back to the UK and all that import duty just to end up with ear ache, plus she might be a tad pis##d being stuck in a shipping container for two weeks

Your braking problem maybe a duff vacuum booster unit or lack of vacuum getting to it, check vacuum lines are all connected and tight and the one way valve at the booster is working.
To be honest the stock braking is ok for normally aspirated engine but the extra power from even the stock 5.4 blown unit gives rise to brake fade if you push it hard.

I am looking into upgrading to Willwood front and rear, a lot of dosh ($$$) though but extra power from the JDM motor means you need to upgrade big time - or drive like a snail.
Pushing both my old 2000 360hp and my later 2003 380hp hard gave rise to brake overheating and the need to push even harder on the stop pedal.

I will look into kits for the 'L' but also intend to get some 16" rims and slicks for the drag season ahead in the UK so need to take this into account when upgrading the rear brakes.

Dont forget to send me some photo's and I will send some back here from sunny england - not.

Ricki

ROB !!!!!! DO NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK NO MORE!!!!!!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT DRIVE THE TRUCK NO MORE TILL YOU GET THE BRAKES FIXED!!!!!!!!!! All this time and money (not to mention your life) is not worth wrecking your truck!!!!! I know it will kill you but drive the mitsuwhatever you got till its taken care of. You CAN NOT afford to lose the truck again. If you need a hand to see whats going on just shout.

Jason it's been like this for years, I'm use to it by now. One second it's perfect, the next there's no brakes. Sometimes I think it's electrical because it changes after you shut it off and re-start it.

I'll see how it is on the ride home, and of course WILL NOT drive it any more unless it's back to normal. The problem is it comes and goes, and sometimes goes for months on end, so it's been pretty impossible to trouble shoot through the years. And WHO THE HELL would I trust to even attempt to fix it ???? Surly aint playing process of elimination with a teenager in a brake shop.

The Pads have been changed, the brakes bleed on diff ocassions, tried a vac tank, and Ricki I even changed the check booster valve brake thingy twice already. All netted the usual results, it's fine for months on end, then all of a sudden you have a bad day. When it's good it's good, full pedal stiff and hard (like me), when it's bad, the pedal drops to the floor and it mushy and useless (LIKE GATOR)

The next time you start it, it's usually bad to normal (no ones normal here to reference)

YEP and I'm thinking the same thing as you Pal
I just got home and it was MUCH BETTER (almost normal even)
and the longer I drove it the better it appears to be, they always claim they work better hot, me I just say they dont stop worth a schitt anytime.

I'll pick up some stock pads and get to it in the next week or so....

Right now I want to finish unloading it and start a very long and needed cleaning process

Happy Holidays Pal

Just a thought Rob why not try a posting under Braking Systems and see if anyone else has the same problem or has answers.
Could there be a problem with the vacuum servo or master cylinder or even the ABS unit.

Are you running a line lock? or perhaps you have some crap in the system.

On another matter if it's that "Stiff & Hard" how come the old woman went awol
