  1. Put all stock items back on
  2. Tow your truck to side of highway
  3. Spray 6 quarts of oil on ground / underneath truck
  4. Warranty Covers it
  5. Give your self a high five

Stan
I thought my post was easy to tell that I was being sarcastic.
I was trying to point out how much of todays society is of the cheating state of mind.
I am 46 and please beleive that I am not one of the cheaters.
Sorry for the confusion

Chris

From: Pittsburgh PA,
Well in my opinion, after working for nearly 19 years at a Toyota dealer as a service/parts manager, (I have been out of the business now for about 5 years) I can assure you that if I had found a tech taking money on the side for a job he was already getting paid for in my shop, he would not be a tech in my shop for long. I dont know about Ford but I can tell you that the labor rate was the same for customer pay or factory pay,the only difference was the flat rate time that the factory paid. All of my factory trained techs could make good time on warranty work.It was a rare occasion that they would lose on warranty work.Ford may be different ,but I dont know.As for the truck, if Ford can prove that the mods caused the damage than you dont have a chance, the average tech will be able to tell if the pulley has been off or any other bolt ons for that matter. The bottom line is you modified the truck, you changed the parameters of the factory computer settings, and if indeed that is what caused the damage then how can you expect Ford to pay your bill? This is just yet another example of not taking responsibillity for our own actions. Sometimes we just need to be a man and take the hit.

I don't know what SVT dealership you go to out there in the eastern part of the state. I picked up a slightly enjoyed '04 back in August at Framingham. It had a pully on it. I talked to them about the possible warranty issues with the aftermarket pully and they said that they didn't have the issue but that the SVT rep would. I had them take the pully off. Some of you might think that was a stupid move. Some would say that if there was a warranty issue that I should play dumb. I don't think that would work. I plan on modding at some point but would like to pay on it for a while. I will need to be able to pay for repairs if they are needed.

These trucks have been around since '99. I would think that by now they have seen it all. I wouldn't count on having the motor replaced under warranty.

You also might want to ammend your sig if your going to try to get a warranty claim going.

You should have thought about that before you strapped a grenade (AKA 6 lb pulley) to your engine.

Now strap on a pair, man up, and do the right thing.

You brought this ***** on yourself, so YOU straighten it out.

I think you should put it back to stock and send it to ford. I would stick it to them. They ********* me out of new engine when my second one blew that I bought from them. So I say stick it to them the best you can. And get something back from ford from a couple of us that they *******ed. Good luck. Bye the way mine was stock when the second one blew and they would not cover it after I spent $4000 for the engine and it only lasted 7000miles. 3yrs 36000 miles my a**.

You need to do what is right....YOU knew the risks when you added those mods....trying to screw over Ford is only one more reason that the SVT program is headed for the crapper....

I am sure some screenshots of this thread sent to

Jannell Motors Inc

or

Quirk Ford, Inc

Quincy, MA 02169

wouldn't help your case. Suck it up, buy a replacement stocker, or save longer for a built block and move on..

sorry

sorry to hear about your motor bro. Being in Mass, my L is now parked for the winter , partly for the reason you posted about. Hate to be the one to say it but i don't think it topped 25 degrees today and you have known better. 6lber, stock block and cold temps equal disaster. I saw my old man do it on 95 with just a 4.

Some guys don't agree with going back to stock and bringing it in for warranty. I personally don't fault you for it. They've voided motor warranties for less when they should have payed. All depends on how good your dealer's relationship with the SVT rep that comes out..........and they will come out.

Put it completely back to stock. Everything. And if they don't give you a motor, then don't be mad.

I look at it this way, they can pay for your motor for the corrosion on my door and hood they refused to fix because it didn't rot all the way through the paint.

Good luck bro.

Take responsibility for your actions. Responsibility = Another trait that is becoming extinct in this world.

Ford will definitely send a rep out and dig into this. I work w/ an ex-Ford development engineer and even though you can reflash the ECM, it has a tattle tale that will basically tell Ford it had an aftermarket program.

I think your SOL but good luck.
