OBD,

If you take that time slip to Dunkin Donuts and give 'em 99 cents they will give you a coffee and a donut.

Interesting comment, but I think you will find Wyldman's time is the best 99.5 Lightning 1/4 time posted on this board. After looking at my time slip from last Friday night, it appears that Wyldman may have run out of juice or had a malfunction in his nitrous system. Notice my speeds are virtually identical at 1/8 and 1/4 with no juice. I figure a 12.857 without juice in the last 1/8 is pretty scarry.

Wyldman, What it the true weight of your SVT? With all those add-ons and you, as you put it.You said that you weighed 4760 with all the goodies including you. How can you add so much weight and still be under 5000 lbs,I`m not starting ****. It`s that I am curious as to how you have so many "add-ons" and still be light..as far as stock weight goes.

5075 pounds. That is some heavy metal folks to run under 13 sec., especially if he was almost coasting the last 1/8 or 1/16.

Only other truck I have seen on the board that really weighs is MRBBQMAN's Dodge that I think I read weighs over 8000 pounds and is also exceptionally quick.

Never ceases to amaze me what modern technology and a ton of money can do nowadays.

The 4760 is w/o me included. When I run currently, I am weighing in around 5000 lbs. (approx., the scale only goes to 5K)

Question

Wyldman,

What was your bottle pressure before your runs?

Dead on 1050. The bottle warmer I got is pressure regulated so it comes on at 900 and goes off at 1050.

Wyldman -

Any indications of problems on the last half of your run?

Sixpipes,

The only trouble I had was breaking the tires loose at the 1-2 and then again at the 2-3 shift. I think that's where my MPH went. I was also told that running the shorter tire would cut into the trap speed as well. The DR's are only 26" tall, and I haven't made enough runs w/them to figure out how to stop the spinning on the shift.

I don't think the bottle ran low on that pass, because the next pass against Chuck's R/T I got the hole shot and maintained the length lead all they way down the track.

I'm going to be spending more time at the 1/8 mi track in Sealy to work on launches, shifts, etc.

Bill,

Aw come on, man! It was only a 1/2 ton of money. I've never seen a ton all at once.

One of the reasons that I have been running at full street weight is that I need to keep my ET's in the high 12's for a while, until I can get a drive line hoop installed. The first time I break a 12.99 and they decide to look, I'll have to park her. These guys mean business when it come to the NHRA rules.

I have already decided that low 12's will be my limit. I don't intend to put a roll cage in my baby, that would hurt, a lot.

Chuck: 10-4 on the mods necessary to qualify at those low ET's and MPH figures.

On the other hand, if you can get to that point, it may be worth it. Plus, you will have one of the safest trucks on both the road and the track.

Just a thought.

Question

Wyldman, I had late model firebird with auto that et'ed in the high 11 w/gas @ 108-109 about a month later the trans headed your direction..South. Fixed the trans et's dropped very little but the MPH was up to 115 seems it was only slipping in 3rd. Does anyone know how the band and clutching works on these trans's? Do you have a shift improvement kit? Sounds like it shifts nice and hard.

The shifts are much firmer than stock, due to Sal's PSP flip chip (running new code, still testing, but pleased so far). I have no indication of any kind that there may be incipiant tranny troubles, but I will keep an eye on it.
