Glad to see you respond, Wyldman. I was beginning to think you sleep all day. I do have a hard time believing that you never read any of this until now. But I am fair, so I will take your word for it.
As far as the weight issus is concerned, if I could be so bold as to use the words of one of your fellow Lightning members,"run what you brung." If you didn't like the weight then you shouldn't have bought it. I have to work within the limitations of my combo, to each his own. I have no problem with multiple power adders, just don't cry foul when someone does it back.
As I stated before, Chuck E. is a nice guy. I hope you two work out your "misinterpretations".

OBD,

Some people sleep at night (once in a while) and go to Church on Sunday mornings, you're too kind to believe me.

You have never heard me cry foul on anyone or anything. If I get beat, I admit it and don't look for excuses.

I did "run what I brung" and I didn't initiate the request to race. I was glad to oblige, as I thought it would just be a friendly contest, not this attempt to flame me.

I have done the things to my truck that I felt needed to be done to be competitive in classes I am likely to run in. I am reasonably sure that Chuck has done likewise, and will continue to do so.

And one last thing, twice in your reply you insinuated that I am a liar. I am not, and I do take exception to being called one, even by inference. If you can't keep a civil tongue, don't bother addressing me further, you will be ignored.

Thumbs up

Nice run Chuck! Sounds as if the "one bad dakota" and I would be a more equal running partner, since I do not run NOS. But I just got all this and thought if I threw in my $.02 we might have a more equal run, weight vs engine vs brand!

See ya around!

Chuck: did you run with your ABS still hooked up and if so did it shake or cahtter when braking? Did it leave a code in the comp. because of rpm and speed errors at braking? Or did you disconnect it?

Myself included,sir

"You have never heard me cry foul on anyone or anything. If I get beat, I admit it and don't look for excuses."
--------------------------------------------- Your right, I have never heard or implied you cried foul. I simply meant I hope you don't do that sort of thing when the time comes around.
---------------------------------------------
"not this attempt to flame me"
---------------------------------------------
Nobody is flaming anyone. The fact of the matter is you posted about your victory and we added a few of the details you seemed to have left out and inquired about a rematch. I even congratulated you!
---------------------------------------------
"And one last thing, twice in your reply you insinuated that I am a liar. I am not, and I do take exception to being called one, even by inference. "
---------------------------------------------
Whoa! Easy there big fella. Nobody called you a liar. The probability of you not returning to see what everyone else wrote is low. Lets face it, when somebody posts about a new record there all excited about seeing people's responses to it. We ALL do this, and it's normal. I even said I believed you!!! How can that be calling you a liar!! Shesh! Not once did I resort to name calling about you or your truck. My replies were very specific and substantive. No integrity was impuned. The best way not to get offended is not to take offense.
I will be at cyberbrawl. Hopefully we can meet on better terms. Who knows, we might even be lined up to run against each other.
Despite what yoy might think, I'm really an ok guy.
Tom

Cool

I was a witness to Wyldman's first run against the little green Dakota on Friday night. Some how it's unfair to use Nitrous against a truck that weighs considerably less and is pushing close to the same horsepower through extensive engine mods. I was very impressed with the Dakota's run and even more impressed with the sportsmanship displayed by both gentlemen in the pits afterward.

If OBD is trying to get things stirred up on the Lightning board, he will fail miserably. I also remember a little pre-race taunting of Nathan on the "HRP this Friday" thread by him earlier in the week. There would be no reason for me to race Chuck's Dakota because it is obviously faster than my "L" (13.302@103.52mph). I just don't understand why OBD feels like Lightning owners have to stand still while other truck owners are within the rules in spending considerable funds and making extensive mods to be able to whoop our trucks. Am I missing something here?

Could someone please tell me what this Dakota has had done to it. I don't know anything about them, but I didn't think they would run anything near the 12's on street tires. I don't want to get waxed on the street by one!
Thanks, Jerry

Tom, i don't know what kind of trouble you had finding parts for a 318/360 chrysler motor, i've spend over 20k in mods on a ram v-10 and kicked myself in the *** every time i saw n/a for 8.0L, and when it was available for it , it was 3x-4x the price of your parts.

Cool

There really is no reason for argument here since it's really quite simple. May the faster truck win and congradulations WYLDMAN on your recent accomplishment. As for the owner of the Dakota, this should be some incentive to do a little more work to your truck even if it be adding NOS. There is always faster and always better out there and from what I read no disrepect was ever intended from the original post. Once again congrats to WYLDMAN for his awesome accomplishment. Laterz
