Sounds like Lightningfest is shaping up to be quite an event. I had planned to attend, but my motor blowing has eliminated that trip for me.
I think it is great that JLP is sponsoring a class and we should appreciate the generosity.
I would love to see a large event to have a contest between all the top tuners and their customers. Heads up would be great, but only a few would be able to participate. A better idea is a handicap system favoring the faster vehicles instead of a 100% advantage which favors the slower more consistant vehicles.
Maybe someday we can all race together without the politics.

I must go on record as saying I do think JL's truck is cool. I am not one of those "haters" because it is light. I was merely taking a pop shot at him while he was reloading....since he did fire the first shot. I still would like to see a big three shootout, even though Sals hairdrier got sold it would be great publicity.

No we will not be making Lightning Fest this year, we made it the first year where we were the only of the "big 3" there. We simply cant make it because of the dates Big D chose to go with. We are already gone from our extremly busy schedule in the shop for 3 weeks with FFW. To add L fest would keep us away for another 7-9 days. Which right now is just not possible. If it would have been in october it would be better for everyone because everyone could make it.

The 32V motors are ready however we only have 1 3.3 Whipple. We can only get 3 more and that would be it as do to the situation with Lyscholm and Whipple.

JL,

Nothing you own, built, nor any of your customers will ever be faster and more dependable than ours. You think you are Joe Cool to come to a FFW event, qualify the fastest and then not show on Sunday to race. Just to say you were faster than any JDM truck which were running for consistency not to show how fast they are. We build our trucks to win every event, stay consistent, and LAST. Take for example myself in Dealer Jim's Truck this past weekend were I won the Bristol event and then took 2nd in the Topeka event. This was worth nearly 6 grand in winnings and contingency. Because you are a 1 hit wonder with your trucks and motors ie. Charlie who's brand new motor shot rods out of the block on something like his 5th pass with it. It did go 10.12 but it also did go home wounded on a trailer. At Atco you were running 10.80's in your 7 sec looking truck and your motor sounded worse than my diesel. You were all over the place with your ET's this summer and the sad part about it is you probably have over 200 grand in the truck to date. 30k for the truck brand new, your chassis guy is telling everyone that there is nearly 50k in the work you did there, those big tires and new rims, all the trannies, motors, and blowers that went into it not to mention all your time in R & D, repairing, and working on it over the past 3 years. This got you a 7sec look in a truck that has run a hand full of high 9's.

There is a TV show called "Pinks" were they have grudge matches for pink slips. Im sure you have heard of it. I would like to set up an appointment to do this, the earliest spot they have available is February. You win you take my truck, I win I take yours.

While that show is a neat concept, almost all of them have disappointed. Rumor has it that people get to keep the rides no matter the outcome and I believe it the way they negociate.

You can set a buyout point at the beginning. As in if you lose you can agree to fork over 5k, 10k, whatever the price is that you set instead of giving up the car.

I know the guy on there last week that won with the ELD car and he had a buyout point. So instead of getting the other guys car he took his money.
