I don't care what it is... If you have the money and want to throw it at it to go fast, that's badA$$ in my book.

If it weren't for the quest to go faster, we'd still be using 2# pullies.

Think about it for a second, the lightning has been out of production for a while and they are still making new products (whipple, turbo kits) for it. These aren't small dollar items either.

TO: all the fast guys...

RE: Money and your truck.

Keep throwing money at it and giong faster, we all benefit.

Thanks JLP!

Good Job with the payouts Johnny.
Anyone ever tell you that you are dumb>???

My truck has been out of the 12's for 3 years now pal. Try 10's or 11's. I need no out.
If I wasn't trying to run and business and wanted to get tied up in all the politics at the track then I would go more often. When I first got my truck I was at the track almost every other week. I like to go and have a good time and make a lot of runs at a nice open event. My truck has been on plenty of scales at tracks. Funny how they all say the same weight. Gee.
Look at all the items taken off of Sal's truck versus what it still weighed in at. Funny, isn't it.
You are ignorant. Maybe you should do a little research next time pal.

Oh and by the way, my truck is ready to get loaded on the trailer tomorrow and is in race trim right now. There is just a tad under 3/4 of a tank full of gas in it. WoW!

My truck weighed in on the scales at MILAN dragway at just under 4700 lbs, with me in it.
That would be without spare, and hitch.
I'm 200#.

OK ladies, Do we really need to argue about how much a GenII weighs?

I know mine (at the track) with the tailgate on,slicks and skinnies weighs roughly just over 4600 with me in it on a little more than 1/4 tank.

Some weigh more because of what is in them and some weigh less because guys choose to gut them in order to get the best e.t. possible

Can we move on with our lives now!

oh yeah, one other thing. If you dont like a particular vendor or tooner then just keep your commnets to yourselves and stop being a keyboard tough guy - your not impressing anyone and you just make yourself sound like an ***!

Does anybody know if that 32valve 3.3 whipple with stock suspension is going to be there backing up all of that smack talk earlier this year?
JL

Wow Johnny, amazing how you can come on line, open your wallet and offer your money to the top 10 of the class, and they still schitt on you : o (

I wish I could come but can't, (plus I'm just a slow a$$ 11 sec Lighting)
But FYI I'd still take your money ; o) So why not save your money, (or put it towards a KB for me : o )
FK um, let them all pay their own gas, they surly dont appreciate the offer, out of 36 reply's only Ralph and IM even Thanked You.

BTW, that was a very nice way of calling him out, nothing bad was said.
I see no reason for all the schitt you got in return but I guess being Top Dog has it disadvantages too. But just to fill you in, I heard Whipple wont be shipping for at least 2 more weeks

Why is it people cant like (or respect) MORE than one tuner/vendor ?
ALL OF US would love nothing more than to see some Vendors / and customers of those Vendors do some heads up racing, (not bracket racing),
but anytime it's attempted it gets totally out of hand so I guess it'll never be..

Rob could not have said it better myself.

You guys all ride Johnny that his truck is not a Lightning that can be driven on the street, or it is hatch up with a tube chassis. I just went through every post JLP ever made (ok that is a lie on my behalf) and he has never claimed "fastest street lightning". You guys all need to take a step back and look at what the guy is doing.
He is an innovator, he has a vision and he is doing it. There is not one person with more money into their L than him (maybe vinnie!), he is trying to reach "HIS GOAL" not yours. Just like JDM with the 4 valve or PSP with the turbo, they are innovators trying something different. Don't hate because your *** is broke and don't have $$$ to throw at your L or that you mind is so small that you can not think outside the box and do what no one else has done before.

My friends 03' Lightning weighs 4760 with him in it at full Weight & he weighs 230 lbs. If anyone is gonna install 200 lbs. of stereo equipment they can do as they choose. Some aftermarket bed covers weigh 200Lbs. That is Not what a Stock Gen 2 weighs. That's all that I'm saying Sal.

I weigh 190 and I weighed my truck on the return lane at MIR at Ford Fever with less than a half tank of gas. These are the same scales they used to set the modular and factory stock classes that day, most of whom know what they way and did not complain about the calibration of the scales. It was 5085 with me in it. I race with my full stereo, empty bed, hitch on, spare on, passenger seat in, jack and so forth. I'm proud that at 5,085lbs and on F1s my truck went a low 12. I'm not making excuses for not going 10s.

You could come to MIR for Ford Fever in October and operate the scale yourself if you'd like.

You could also ask 2bscrewed, he was there that day and I believe weighed in in the 46-4700 lb range.

I think JLP at least deserves a thanks for stepping up to the plate and putting up some of his cash for some of you guys to take.
FWIW, I wieghed my completely stock 01 lightning with a hard tonneau cover for registration in California last year. And with me in it (150lbs) the scale read 4700#s.

I would think Vinnies truck will be a 2.3 4v truck by then since he has Will's blower.

I have a question for Johnny, gonna put that 8 on the board?
